Shire Stove and Chimney Services is looking for someone to join our team.

Our family business has been established since 2019.
We are based in Peebles and cover the Scottish Borders and Edinburgh installing wood burning stoves and sweeping chimneys.

What is the Job?

We need a labourer that wants to progress in our company. The right candidate would be put through HETAS training. Full sweep training would be given.

What do you need?

Trade experience would be a benefit but isn't necessary.
A clean drivers licence is a must.
Motivated to get jobs done.
Eye for detail when it comes to finishing.
Good social skills when dealing with customers.

Wishing all of our customers a huge Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

This year has been our busiest year to date. We know that some of you have been in touch and we haven't managed to get back to you, for this we apologise. We are planning to do some restructuring next year to improve our database.

We are now on holiday until the 10th of January. I will keep an eye on emails in case of emergencies.

Now it's time to put the feet up and enjoy a glass of wine.

With the popularity of outdoor office spaces on the rise, the demand for low output stoves is at an all time high.

We were tasked with installing this lovely little Charnwood Aire 3. It was installed with a steel pod, specially designed for the Aire 3.
With a toasty 3kw output and a whopping 86% efficiency, this stove is perfect for smaller rooms.

If you are looking to get a stove installed then make sure and get in touch. With winter just round the corner we are booking up fast.

Weeeelllllllll. It has been forever since we last posted. We have been super busy here at Shire Stove and Chimney Services.

This is a completed install that we finished today. A cracking Morso 4043 wood burning stove on a glass hearth with black twin wall flue.

The diary is certainly filling up quickly for this winter and due to the demand, stove lead times are getting longer and longer. So if you are thinking of getting a stove, make sure and get in touch soon.

Last installation for the year. A lovely little Charnwood C4-Blu. We used Igneous Stone Surfaces Ltd for the hearth and slips.

I think everyone could agree it has been a challenging year. We have tried our hardest to get everyone squeezed in before Christmas, however due to COVID we are behind on sweeps. If you have been missed we will be in touch to get you booked in for January.

Out with the old. In with the new.

Two open fires replaced with lovely Charnwood C-Four inset stoves. A nice 5kw output and coming in around 80% efficiency. A nice upgrade from the open fire

When you go to use your stove and it's not working properly. 🤔
I was called in to replace this for an unlucky customer in Edinburgh. Due to a chimney sweep puncturing a previous liner, this was the third getting the chimney lined. As they say, third time's a charm.
Always make sure and use professionals.

Good way to end the week getting this lovely Woodwarm Phoenix multi fuel stove finished.

Here's the before and after picture. The chimney breast was created using metal stud and non-combustible board to create this lovely new addition. Quite a bit of work put into this one but I think you can it agree it was worth it.

Wow. It has been ages since I last posted. We are currently trying to play catch up with our chimney sweeping. 🤦‍♂️

On the plus side. Here is a one happy customer. Replaced the old stove with a nice new ACR Tenbury T400 inset stove, finished off with a nice 3mm steel trim. All ready for the winter. 🔥🔥

You don't always get to see the end results. But it is brilliant when you do.

Here's a cracking Charnwood C4 Blu that was installed last week. I think the paint ties in perfectly with the stove and lovely big chunk of Steel Grey hearth provided by in Jedburgh. Excuse my foot in the glass!🤦‍♂️😄

It feels good to start getting back to some form of normality.

This was a cheeky little install 3 months in the making thanks to lockdown 🤦‍♂️.

Full strip out (forgot to take one right at the start) and install of a nice Stovax Vogue Midi wood burning stove. Plastering done by Jamie Fleming pre lockdown.
