When did you last dust your bookshelves? 📚

Bookshelves are one of those areas that can quietly collect dust without you really noticing.

A quick way to tackle them:

🧽 Work shelf by shelf rather than taking everything off at once.

⬇️ Dust from top to bottom so you don’t put dust back onto areas you’ve already cleaned.

📚 Give your books a quick dust too — especially the tops where dust loves to settle.

And if you’ve got lots of books, don’t feel like you need to do the whole thing in one go. One shelf at a time still makes a difference.

Sometimes keeping on top of the housework is simply about making the jobs feel manageable.

Cat owners… this one’s for you! 🐱

As much as I love cats…

Their hair has an incredible ability to end up absolutely everywhere!

One of the easiest ways to remove cat hair is by slightly dampening a rubber glove and running it over soft furnishings.

The hair gathers into clumps making it much easier to vacuum away.

And yes…

If your cat decides to supervise me while I’m cleaning, that’s absolutely fine by me!

One thing I’ve learnt over the years is that keeping a home clean isn’t about spending hours every weekend cleaning.

It’s about little habits that stop jobs building up.

My favourite advice is simple…

✔ Put things away as you go.
✔ Keep laundry moving.
✔ Ask for help when life gets busy.

There’s no prize for doing everything yourself.

Sometimes having someone come in once a month to reset your home is enough to make everything feel manageable again.

What a busy July!

⭐ A trip to Maastricht to see André Rieu.

⭐ Family visits and a trip to Millport.

⭐ There was also an overnight in Dundee, but no pics!

⭐ And not forgetting all the cleans in between!

I’m a solo cleaner based in Paisley.

For years I looked for ways to fulfil my two main goals in life; to give up my day job and something I could do that would help other people.

In 2014 Bazil Brush Cleaning was born.

I got so busy very quickly and I tried to take on staff, however this proved to be a constant nightmare and headache and in 2019 I made the decision to go solo forevermore 😂

And I have never regretted that decision.
