A good deed for the day complete. After driving through for some time we saw all the main road signs were a little dirty in Weston Patrick and some facing the wrong way too. So we kicked our hot ♨️ water cleaning system into action and gave them all a good scrub.

With the dark nights closing in, this morning we took the opportunity to refresh our staffs training on how to change a tyre. Not the most exciting thing but very important to keep our skills fresh in the mind, with the ability to keep us all safe when working on the road side.

Guttering is one of those things that get forgotten about on your home and can over time if not maintained course problems. So why are they so important?

Well there’s a few reasons.

1) Gutter provide water management
Rain falling on your roof only wants to go down, if left to do so it will find its own route, gutters channel this water to the drains where it is dispersed in a controlled manner.

2) They help to protect your properties foundations
If the rain was left to run off your roof to the ground this could over time damage your foundation with excessive amounts of water.

3) Help prevent soil erosion
When the rain water hits the ground it splashes the dirt away up your wall and from the area and starts to dig into the ground. This in turn creates pools of water attracting insects.

Maintaining gutters is an important part of what we do here at Gopherowen, we can provide yearly cleaning hassle free and provide maintenance/repairs as required.

Below is a small job we did today, our customer said a gutter was leaking so we took a look.

This had been repaired (badly) with sealant and mastic. This type of repair is unnecessary as it causes more problems and doesn’t fix the issue, just delays the inevitable and costs more money for the customer.

We source and fit like for like parts to help maintain the look for your gutters and their integrity.

The suns been shining for the last two weeks and the shorts are finally out from there long winter break. We too have been out hard at work, last week we were cleaning not just windows, conservatory’s but patios and gutters too.
