Weaving Magic – Tip of the Week – Leaf Sweep
A simple job for sunny December weekend, after the fall of the final few leave from the trees. These leaves are dirty and wet and may transfer soil into your house and carpets. Spend a few minutes on this chilli but sunny weekend to sweep and collect as many as possible before the weather turns much colder. Make sure your outside door mats, can perform their function, to defend you internal soft furnishings.
Please note, wet leaves can also be a slip hazard!

Weaving Magic – Tip of the Week – Christmas Tree Sap
David & Melanie wish all our clients and friends a very Merry Christmas. You are probable in the process of planning your decorations and preparing a space in the corner of your room for your Christmas tree. If it is going to be a real Christmas Tree, then our Tip of the week is going to have to last for the whole of December.
When growing in the ground a conifer takes moisture and nutrients from roots in the soil and it rises as sap, up through the trunk of the tree and out to the branches and needles. Once cut this capillary action stops. The sap is then pulled down by gravity. As the Christmas tree dries out, you will notice the needles start to fall off. What you may not notice, is the sap from the base of the tree, where it was cut has started to drip on to your carpet.
We recommend that you place a small waterproof sheet under the tree stand, to capture any drips. The sheet could be a simple plastic bag or large freeze bag or even some leftover bubble wrap. Make sure it is wider than the trunk of the tree, then conceal the plastic with some tinsel or wrapping paper, so it looks festive. This should help protect your carpet.
(Kerry and Chris, please note; the stump example in the photo is for a guide only. It is not our Christmas tree!)

Weaving Magic - Tip of the week – Pulling and Runs
A simple tip for looking after your carpets and preventing serious damage. Did you see our previous tip on plucks a couple of weeks ago? If you want to avoid a run in your carpets then you will need to cut loose fibres or tuck them underneath the edge of the carpet. It is simple to do. If not done relatively soon, then it may get snagged by a vacuum cleaner, tugged by a pet or investigated by curious little fingers! Remember the phrase “A stitch in time save nine”

I am not allowed to sit on the cushions, so I just lean on the edges. Please help, I don’t want to be in the dog-house over Christmas!”
“No problem – Weaver LTD are Fine Fabric specialist and know just how to get you back in the good books.”
