To say I've had a tough day would be an understatement, but I'm trying as always to do the best I can do and just when I thought things couldn't get any harder this job comes my way.

Normally I wouldn't be so aggressive on velvet, but I had no choice given the amount of hair, dog oils, grease and renovation dust that had not only discoloured the fabric, but also made it slightly sticky to the touch. I also had to deal with the smell which can often be harder to remove than visible staining.

Good Morning, this is Matt the owner of Evergreen Clean, and it may not come as a surprise given how we are all suffering from the rising cost of fuel that I am making this post.

I have been deliberating what to do as my costs sky rocket, raise the overall prices, raise my minimum call out or stop covering certain areas just to try and stay operational, and I have finally decided the fairest way to do that and keep with the core values of the business being an affordable service that I have to, at least for the time being add on a small cost to travel.

You will notice that jobs within a large 20 mile return radius are still free. For areas within a 20-30 mile return radius there's a small £4.99 fee, and for 30-40 miles a slight increase upon that at £5.99. This of course doesn't pay the entire £200+ a month fuel bill, but it will keep me afloat and at the same time allow me to keep my prices exactly the same.

These new travel costs will come into immediate effect but not for pre-existing bookings who wernt of course made aware of the change. If these small costs are a problem you are of course free to use one of the many other carpet and upholstery cleaning services, but for me personally it's becoming a real worry and I need to proactively do something to maintain the business and keep the roof over my families heads.

I genuinely hope that these small changes won't put people off, thank you for your understanding and continued support of the business. Once again these are temporary whilst we all live through these difficult times. If anyone has any question please inbox me.

First job of the day, and I was called out to clean some carpets in a property that hadn't been done in over a decade.

As well as the carpets being discoloured from day to day wear and tear, a significant spill had happened and had been covered up for a number of years.

Here are the before and afters, as you can imagine the customers we both very pleased not only that I'd managed to restore the original colour back, but also remove the unsightly stain on their hallway carpet.

Our non toxic stain remover is effective at removing most household spills and stains from all washable carpets and fabrics. It's safe to use around children, pets, is odourless, non flammable, non bleaching and free rinsing so no need to extract.

Here I removed red dye from a wool carpet for a customer. The customers dog had left a nasty surprise for them in the home office and because the dry food was dyed red, regular cleaning would not remove the pigmentation.

As you can see I managed to remove the dye and retain the original colour of the carpet. The customer was delighted and no longer had to be reminded of what happened each time she was working from home.

I thought I'd do something a little different today and do a product test. This time using Brightchems High powered Enzyme PreSpray & Rinse. I paid for this out of my own pocket and I'm just doing this to highlight my own work and support a small business they have no idea I'm making this post but I'll tag them in it.

So this was presprayed with approx 1500ml of solution at a dilution rate of 50ml per litre (due to heavier soilage). Agitated, 10 mins dwell time, and rinsed with Brightchems Acid Rinse. It was then extracted using my Jaguar Cub. For full transparency I also had Alltecs Fresh Linen in the tank and Envirosafe to add a nice fragrance and sanitise, this would not of improved the clean.

As you can see it did a really good job. When cleaning upholstery you can pretty much tell when prespraying how good the final result is going to be, and I knew straight away starting with the heavily soiled arm that I was going to be able to remove nearly all the stains.

I'm happy and the customers happy so onto the next!

Hey this is Matt I just wanted to do a quick post to say thank you so much to everyone who has left me a review. I just found out Facebook hadn't been notifying me of them and there's dozens I never thanked or got back to at the time.
