We’re Hiring: Payroll Administrator
Part-Time | Permanent | Northfleet, Kent | £15 per hour
Monitor Group is looking for an experienced, organised and detail-focused Payroll Administrator to join our Head Office team in Northfleet.
This is a key part-time role within our back-office team, supporting the smooth and accurate running of payroll for approximately 150 employees across our commercial cleaning contracts.
Hours: 15 hours per week
Preferred working pattern: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, although this can be discussed at interview
Flexibility: Additional hours may be required occasionally to cover holiday or sickness
Salary: £15 per hour
Contract: Part-time, permanent
About the Role
Working closely with our internal teams and external payroll provider, you will be responsible for ensuring payroll information is accurate, complete and processed on time. This role would suit someone with a strong background in payroll administration, bookkeeping or a similar finance/admin position.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Receiving and checking staff timesheets for accuracy and completeness
• Submitting approved payroll data to our outsourced payroll provider
• Liaising with the payroll provider to resolve queries
• Checking completed payroll reports
• Responding to employee payroll queries professionally and promptly
• Maintaining sickness, holiday and absence records
• Processing starter, leaver and employee detail changes
• Maintaining confidential payroll and personnel records
• Providing payroll figures and reports to the Finance and Accounts teams
• Managing attachments of earnings
• Supporting annual and quarterly reporting, including P11Ds
• Assisting with pensions administration
• Providing employment references and confirmation of employment letters
• Supporting with ad hoc administration and reporting tasks as required
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
• Previous experience in payroll administration, bookkeeping or a similar role
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Good Microsoft Excel skills
• A methodical and organised approach to work
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to work independently and liaise professionally with colleagues and third parties
• Flexibility to provide office cover when needed
• Experience working with an outsourced payroll provider would be beneficial, but is not essential
