From Windows to Bat Cave – Member Story.

One of our long-time members Nic Milner, Owner of Abbey Window Cleaning was faced with one of his bucket list jobs and given the opportunity to work alongside Chester Zoo and work in the bat enclosure.

The enclosure had never been cleaned, and the zoo team were keen to ensure the work was completed with absolute care and minimal disruption.

UKHA Manchester & NW Meeting Review: Our spring meeting was held on 21st May 2026 at the beautiful Motel One Manchester-Royal Exchange. It was wonderful to welcome several new members alongside many familiar faces from the core of the association.

Defra has pledged to review mole traps as part of the Government’s Animal Welfare Strategy 🐾 BPCA has responded by surveying the sector to make sure professional pest management is properly represented.

The message from members was clear 📣 There are no realistic alternatives to trapping moles in many situations.

But there are genuine welfare concerns around cheap, low-quality traps being widely available to the public.

Good regulation should remove unsuitable traps from the market without taking essential tools away from trained professionals.
