What a month it’s been!

July has been filled with a fantastic mix of work across North Devon, and we’re so grateful to every client who continues to trust us with their homes and businesses.

This month we’ve been busy with:

Commercial cleans
Holiday let changeovers
End of tenancy cleans
Deep cleans
Post-renovation and sparkle cleans
Regular housekeeping visits

✨ We’re now in the full swing of holiday guest arrivals and departures, with changeovers keeping us incredibly busy.

One of the highlights this month was helping a bride-to-be by making sure her home was sparkling and ready to welcome family travelling from around the world for a very special celebration. Moments like these remind us that we’re not just cleaning homes—we’re helping create stress-free, memorable occasions.

✨ A huge thank you to my incredible team for your hard work, attention to detail, and commitment every single day. I truly couldn’t do it without you.
I’m hugely grateful to you all for holding everything together while I enjoy a weekend away and a few days off next week. Having time off at this time of year is completely unheard of for me, so I’m incredibly thankful to have such a dedicated team I can rely on. ✨

Best view of the day… ✨

Some homes are a pleasure to clean, and this is definitely one of them. From the moment you walk through the front door, you're greeted with the most beautiful view.

I’ve had the privilege of following the journey of this incredible property every step of the way—from the post-renovation clean, to the sparkle clean, and now providing regular housekeeping for this beautiful family home.

Seeing a house transformed into a much-loved home has been incredibly rewarding, and we're proud to continue helping keep it looking its very best. ✨

Today we completed a two-day deep clean for a lovely elderly couple as they prepare to put their home on the market ✨

Moving home is never just about bricks and mortar—it's often the start of a new chapter. In this case, it's a move to be closer to their sons ✨

Over two days, we've worked hard to leave their home sparkling, fresh, and ready for viewings, ensuring it looks its absolute best for potential buyers ✨

We're also delighted that the couple have asked us to continue supporting them with fortnightly cleans while their home is on the market. This means they can focus on what's important without the added pressure of keeping on top of the cleaning before every viewing, knowing their home will always be ready to welcome potential buyers✨

We had the absolute pleasure today of helping a lovely bride-to-be with a last-minute house clean ahead of her wedding. 💍✨

Now her home is sparkling, pristine, and ready to welcome family flying in from all over the world for a weekend of celebrations before the big day. 🥂

It's moments like these that remind us that cleaning is about so much more than a tidy home—it's about giving people one less thing to worry about during life's biggest moments.

“You charge £25–£30 an hour? You must be making a fortune!”

It’s something many self-employed cleaners hear.

But here’s the reality…

That isn’t what we earn.

From that hourly rate we pay for:
• Public liability insurance
• Tax and National Insurance
• Fuel and vehicle costs
• Cleaning products and equipment
• Uniforms and PPE
• Marketing and advertising
• Bookkeeping and software
• Training
• Replacement equipment
• Unpaid admin, quoting and travel time
• Holiday and sick pay (which we fund ourselves)
Once all those business costs are covered, our actual hourly earnings are often much closer to £15–£18 an hour—sometimes less, depending on the job and travel involved.

A professional cleaning business isn’t just someone turning up with a mop and bucket. It’s a business with overheads, responsibility and a commitment to delivering a consistently high standard.
So next time you see a self-employed cleaner charging £25–£30 an hour, remember—that’s the business rate, not the wage they take home. ✨

Then a swim in the sea
Westward Ho! Walking, lunch, swim in the sea and the arcades!
