According to the calendar, Winter is behind us and Spring is in the air! Still a few weeks to go until we can stand down our stoves and fires I suspect.
I'd like to use this post to inform current and prospective customers of mine that there'll be no increase in my charges for the next 12 months.
I'm also going to be offering a 10% to existing cutomers who book an appointment to sweep between April 1st and August 31st inclusive.
My charges for the year will be as follows :

Multi Fuel Stoves/ Wood Burners with fully lined flues £65

Multi Fuel Stoves/ Wood Burners with open flues £80

Fireplaces with open flues, Bungalows £70, Houses £80
( includes removal of nesting material )

Maintenance work to be agreed upon assessment. I don't charge to come and inspect.

Cowl fitting £60 plus £20 for each further fitting on the same job.

I also undertake camera surveys and some chimney repair work.

Short notice appointments often available.

Less than 3 weeks to Christmas Day now. I have a few appointments available between the 15th and 19th if anyone is considering having their chimney swept before Santa visits !

I've really enjoyed work this week ! Sweeping again for previous customers and attending first time appointments for others. If I swept for you last year at the end of November or early December you'll recieve a reminder text soon with appointment options for the same time period guaranteed.

Winter's on its way...
Our first delivery of good quality logs arrived today courtesy of our reliable suppliers Sam and Jamie at Aubourn Wood, and now safely. Tomorrow's job... sweeping our own flue !
My "season" is in full swing as customers respond to their annual reminder texts and book in for their annual sweep. I'm also pleased to sweep for first time customers and have plenty of appointments available in November.

The night's are definitely drawing in after a glorious summer. A less busy time for me, for one of my customers, her feathered friends were somewhat more industrious it seems. I removed the result of nesting crows, photo attached, for her yesterday.
If you would like the flue of your open fire, wood burner or stove swept, I have appointments available throughout November. Previous customers, your text reminders will ensure you are offered a convenient date and time for your annual sweep.

Hi everyone. This is not a typical post but I nearly got caught out earlier today by a scam so I would like to share it...
I use PayPal and this morning received an email from E-Order #1 , no subject, I opened it to find a pdf invoice . I opened that to find an alarming purchase invoice purporting to be from Paypal that I definitely hadn't made ( see photo below ) . Off go the alarm bells and I immediately phone the number given on the invoice to report a fraud. To cut a long story short, I abandoned the call and checked my PayPal account online as soon as I got home , no such transaction listed or pending so I think I dodged a bullet on this one.
If this is an old news scam, I apologise, if not, well I hope sharing will help someone else avoid being ripped off.
Before I go, previous customers of mine, look out for your annual sweep reminder text as promised please and for everyone, I have plenty of appointments available in November.

Halfway through August now and time for a few days off. Summer discounts at an end, I'm happy to have worked for some new customers and been reacquainted with return visits to others.

Good Morning, my name's Pete Dixon and I have joined your group because I would like to offer my services to members of the Collingham community.
I am a chimney sweep trained and registered with the National Association of Chimney Sweeps and also hold HETAS H009 Maintenance and Servicing and H003 installation certification, though I do not carry out installation of multi fuel stoves and wood burners.
I pride myself on being reliable, punctual, tidy and honest. Sweeping of open or lined flues takes between 60-90 minutes, my work is fully insured and I issue hard copy certificates on completion.
I am currently offering a 10% discount to new customers who arrange an appointment to sweep before September 1st thus charging, £58.50 to sweep a fully lined flue and £72 to sweep open flues.

A steady summer so far has allowed me to enjoy the best of the weather too! Some disused chimneys capped, open and lined flues swept for new and returning customers has kept me ticking over nicely these past few weeks.
I've been pleased to honour 10% discounts for new customers and 25% off for those I've previously swept for and will continue to do so for anyone arranging an appointment to sweep before September 1st.
I hold the HETAS H009 Stove Maintenance qualification and will also undertake servicing work of multi fuel and wood burning stoves if required.
