Good start to the week. Cut through a wasp nest that resulted to a sting on the head by the biggest wasp that i had ever seen lol 😭 but luckily Green Rock Pest Control was near by to eliminate the issue. Thank you mate for your quick response 🤣 cant recommend this chap enough.

CAN YOU TELL WHICH IS FRIEND OR FOE?

Right now, hoverfly mimics which look almost identical to wasps are feeding on euonymus flowers everywhere. We’ve been called out to 4 separate jobs recently where people thought they had a wasp problem… but it was just these harmless, helpful pollinators. No treatment needed at all!

✅ A quick reminder:
It’s absolutely fine to deal with things yourself just always identify exactly what you have first. Getting it wrong means you risk harming beneficial insects, and wasting time and money on unnecessary work.

What lies behind the plasterboard?
🐀. 🐀 🐀. 🐀 🐀 🐀.
We were called out to a lovely older property to get to the bottom of persistent rodent activity the owners knew something was getting in, but just couldn’t find where.

Once the internal plasterboard was removed, this is exactly what we found 😮

👉 As you can see in the photo:
This is an original traditional cob wall, which has been extensively burrowed and hollowed out over many years. Rats 🐀 🐀 have chewed and excavated an entire network of tunnels, chambers and nesting spaces deep inside the wall effectively turning the building fabric itself into a permanent home and breeding site.

This is exactly why finding the root cause is so important treating the signs alone will never fix the problem!
