Yesterday we got a call from a customer who was badly stuck, his loading shovel used for feeding his 200 head of cattle stuck in derate mode. Although we were near fully booked but we moved around a few appointments and got down today.

When we arrived it would barely rev over 1000 RPM so the customer couldn’t get his cattle fed.

We have done a lot of these shovels at this stage and we got straight to work. We carried out our diagnostic checks, recorded fault codes and carried out resets using Texa diagnostics.

We then applied our custom wrote tune and solution and got the shovel back to work. After which we carried out a diagnostic check to confirm everything was working as it should.

Once happy with how it was performing and that there was no faults we then let the customer get on feeding his cattle with as little disruption as possible.

If you are suffering with de rate mode or would just looks to increase your agricultural machines performance just drop us a message and we will be happy to answer any questions you have.

A Dieci 32.6 telehandler we were working on today.

Diagnostics: for diagnostics, data resets, live data reading and fault code reading we used our Texa diagnostics equipment.

Tuning: When tuning this shovel, fitted with a Denso ECU, we pinning it out on the bench using KTAG. This means we have a full backup of this ECU stored on our computer and backed up on the cloud.

So if anything ever happens ECU (say it gets damp or damaged) in the future we will be able clone this data onto a new ECU for the customer.

This shovel was going into derate regularly with DPF and EGR issues. So we applied our stage 1 tune, with DPF and EGR solution.

No more derate, more power for it’s day to day work will make this a much more capable shovel.

We offer tuning for a full range of agricultural and commercial vehicles so if you would like to find out more info drop us a message and we will be happy to help.

A BMW 320D having a stage 1 tune applied.

Stock these make 190 BHP but they can feel like there is a bit of a delay when you put the put and not just a lively as they should can be.

Below is the gains from applying our stage 1 tune.

Stock > Stage 1

190 BHP > 220 BHP
400 NM > 440 NM

This really transforms how power is delivered, the throttle response feels more instant, and it now pulls smoothly and strongly up through the gears.

If you would like to see what we can achieve safely from you vehicle just drop us a message and we will be happy to discuss what can be achieved.

A Honda CRV with only 43,000 on the clock, which we carried out a DPF clean on earlier this week.

The customer said the car was just serviced a few weeks previously and the DPF light came on around that time.

When we arrived there was 50 Mbar of DPF back pressure on idle, which is over the safe limit for a regen. We also confirmed this with a manometer to confirm the reading from the sensor was accurate.

When carrying out our diagnostic assessment we noticed an oil dilution code. When this code is stored it means that the DPF has regenerated too many times on the current oil.

Then to prevent wear to vital engine components from poor quality oil (diesel burns and is not a lubricant so when there is too much diesel in the oil, the oil losses some of it lubrication properties) it stops regenerating the DPF and risking further dilution.

So there is 2 things you can take away from this if you own a car with a DPF.

1- Keep an eye on your oil level, not just making sure there is enough oil in it, also making sure the oil level is not rising either, If it is rising it’s best to change it.

2- When the oil is changed it is vital to reset oil service data on diagnostic equipment/ through the dash (depending on vehicle). If you don’t the ECU will not know the oil has been changed and will throw up an oil dilution code/warning and this can lead to DPF issues.

If you are having DPF issues just drop us a message and we will be happy to assist in any way we can.

Something a bit different, here we were working on a Dieci loader. It was suffering constant derate mode.

Diagnostic work was carried out using Texa diagnostics, we were able to pinpoint the fault codes and get to work creating a custom wrote solution to get this machine back working again.

We are now fully equipped to carry out tuning work on all off highway vehicles also. So if your looking more power and custom wrote solutions for tractors, loaders, cranes and the full range of off highway equipment, just drop us a message and we will be happy to run through your options.

We had a trip down memory lane today, at one stage we were doing VAG cars with sticking turbo vanes weekly, if not daily.

Recently though, it has has been a while seen we have done one. This is mainly due to it being Pre 2008 cars with PD engines that suffer from the issue.

Today we were at this 2004 Highline Passat, (With only 90,000 on the clock 🤯) which spends most of its life doing short city driving. This leads to the turbo vanes not using their full range regularly. When they are then put under full load they stick in the carbon that has built up around the vanes. This causes an overboost condition, the ECU then puts the vehicle in limp mode.

Thankfully after our Engine Carbon Clean service, using the most powerful HHO machine on the market (and using a trick we use some times to get the vanes working again) we were able to get this Passat back operating better than it has been in a long time with no more limp mode under full acceleration.

Also sorry for the lack of posts lately but we are finding it hard to keep up with trade work and referrals at the moment. Although if there is anything we can be of help with just drop us a message we will be happy to help. 👍🏻

We haven’t been very active on here lately, we have been flat out just getting the word of mouth booking’s covered, and couldn’t off really got much more work squeezed in. So we have not been very active on here, but still as busy as ever thankfully. 🙏

I’m saying that we thought this one deserved a mention, this car was sent to have DPF cleaned but it ended up getting removed instead.

This work was carried out before Christmas and the car hasn’t ran right since. So much so the customer had to buy a new car to replace it. The car had been back to the first tuner a few times and they couldn’t sort it.

Next it was taken to another tuner, who give it a full once over and confirmed everything was ok mechanically with the car. So they tried their file on it and there was no real improvement.

So the customer was at his wits end after having spent thousands on the car, he was recommended to us by one of our regular customers. We had a chat on phone and he explained there was a string diesel smell, the car was chucking out smoke when ticking over and was running rough. (Signs of DPF attempting to regen)

We have done quite a few of these and not had an issue with them previously, so we applied a our DPF and EGR solution, and thankfully the car was running perfect, no rough idle and no smoke on tickover.

So if you have any tuning needs and would like it carried out professionally and efficiently, why not drop is a message and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

A beautiful E60 BMW M5 in having our Engine Carbon Clean service carried out.

Our service works equally as well on both petrol and diesel vehicles. It left this V10 engine running sweeter. It really quietened down the valve clatter and left the engine running much smoother.

The throttle felt more responsive down low and and power delivery felt much smoother up through the rev range.

If you are suffering from any of the following symptoms you could be suffering from carbon build up around your engine.

- Rough idle

- Increased engine noise/valve clatter

- Decreased performance

- Increased fuel consumption

- DPF issues/increased regen frequency

- EGR issues**

- Increased emissions/smoke

If you are having any of the above symptoms you will have carbon build up all around your engine.

Removing it as part of your regular service schedule will save you money on maintenance and also fuel costs

** Even though in some cases an Engine Carbon Clean can cure EGR issues, it is worth noting hydrogen does not efficiently clean your EGR valve. Although if you are having EGR issues you will have carbon build up all around your engine and it is advisable to work our Engine Carbon Clean into your regular service schedule.

Our customers Mazda 6 DPF light was flashing and the car was feeling very down on power.

He got in touch with us to get his Mazda back running as it should.

On inspection there was very high back pressure inside the DPF, therefore we explained to the customer the only safe solution would be to have our on-vehicle DPF clean carried out.

The Mazda had 10 times the amount of pressure than the acceptable level for a clean DPF. We confirmed the reading from the pressure sensor with a manometer, thus ensuring the reading from the differential pressure sensor is accurate and the sensor is functioning correctly.

Confident the pressure sensor was working as it should, confirmed the DFP was in fact badly blocked . Solution was therefore our 3 stage clean.

Whilst carrying out our DPF clean we carry out a thorough check on the vehicle to make sure there are no underlying issues that could effect the performance of the DPF in the future.

All our health checks on this vehicle came back good, so we questioned the customer about his driving style to see if we could get to the bottom of why his DPF light was on.

He explained that with his job he was only driving 3 miles a day. This was not giving the DPF ample driving time to carry out a successful regen resulting in his DPF getting clogged.

After the DPF clean we had successfully reduced the DPF pressure from 98.5 Mbar to 3.9 Mbar, confirmed using our manometer. Upon taking the vehicle for a drive, the car started to regen the DPF. We like to see the car regening the DPF itself as this lets us know the DPF system is now operating as it should.

At this point we were able to monitor temperatures and we were happy the Temperatures were getting up to the levels required during a successful regen and all temperature sensor were working as they should.

A combination of an in-depth understanding of how the DPF systems work, alongside an attention to detail, results in our high success rate of DPF cleans.

WHY these tests are so important:

Upon a call out to a van which had its DPF removed 3 times and cleaned the DPF light was still coming on.
Upon diagnosis we were able to pinpoint 4 separate issues which had to be rectified before the DPF could operate as it should.
The actual DPF clean is only part of the service we carry out.
It’s the in depth checks carried out at each vehicle that help ensure our great results.

If you are experiencing DPF issues and you think your DPF might require a clean drop us a message and we will be happy to discuss how we can help. 👍🏻

Nice result from this Toyota Rav 4 using our 3 stage DPF clean. We also called out and carried out our service at this customers work place today, to save them any inconvenience at all.

We have managed to reduce back pressure from close to 100mbar at idle to around 1 Mbar, although being a Toyota the back pressure does bounce around a lot it was bouncing from 0.5mbar to 9 Mbar at idle and around 30mbar a 2500 RPM. Leaving this DPF in as good as new condition.

After we completed the clean, we then cleared codes, resets done (which there is a trick to on these Toyotas) then we took it for a drive.

On the drive, the vehicle started to regen the DPF. During this regen cycle we monitored temperature’s and confirmed all the sensors we’re working as they should.

These checks, along with other we do we carrying out our clean to confirm the DPF system is working as it should, greatly reduces the likelihood of future DPF issues.

If your having DPF issues why not drop is a message and we will be happy to call out to you and sort it for you. 👍🏻
