Hi all , I’ve not posted for a while due to nothing to report really but I have a few pieces of info to impart and some tips !
No 1 on the list is our med size machine , you may have noticed it’s been out of order for while now and that is because it’s awaiting parts which our engineer needs to get from abroad so it’s all taking time and we are sorry if anyone is inconvenienced by this and while we are on the subject here is a tip and request rolled into one …….please don’t overload the Machines , I know it’s tempting to save money by cramming everything into a smaller and less expensive machine but all this does is cause the machine to be unbalanced and not spin so your clothes end up being left soaking wet and even if it did spin it dosent get a proper wash because the water can’t get to the centre when the clothes are tightly packed together .
Another tip is about towels , if you have a lot of towels in your washing even if they seem to be ok in a smaller machine because as one customer told me “ there was gap between the washing and top of the drum” don’t be fooled !
Towels when wet get heavy , very heavy and the more towels there are the heavier it will be and again could well unbalance the washer and so it won’t perform correctly …if you have a bunch of towels then use a big machine it will ultimately save you money in the long run .
On a lighter yet extremely annoying and baffling note is the stealing of our stuff ! I’ve had to stop Leaving laundry baskets out as they often went missing but now someone has walked off with the dustpan and brush we leave hanging up in the launderette for customers who may have a powder spillage etc actually that’s not quite true they only took the brush 🤷♀️ why people think it’s ok to steal from small local businesses I will never know ….please go to B&M and buy your own brushes , I’ve just picked up another set for £1.99 in Lidl ….so come on whoever you are go there and pick up a set ( but please pay for them ) 😉
The launderette has been very busy and the dryers are doing overtime due to the lovely weather we are having 🌧️☔️🌧️☔️ it’s so much easier to dry in our large dryers then having it hanging all around the house .
Don’t forget we do a collect and delivery service for those who can’t get in or just plain don’t want to ( collection and delivery is free within a 10 mile radius )
Roll on August , that’s when Greg and I are off on holiday and as you know we now close for the two weeks we are away , this was decided as staffing it was difficult and any problems arising can’t be rectified if we are in another country so it was deemed to be more cost effective and sensible to close and the majority of our customers seemed to back us on this one and it worked out very well . Dates for August holiday closure will be posted before very long .
