Job Description

We are expanding our established team of Assessors across the North West area, including Manchester, Liverpool, Chester and surrounding areas. This is a fully remote, home-based role with regular client site visits all across North West area.
The Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Energy Assessor to carry out systematic site surveys across all building areas, including HVAC systems, fixtures, fittings, and building elements.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of building systems, particularly HVAC and will be responsible for collecting accurate data to support building assessments, maintenance planning, and energy efficiency improvements.
This is a fully remote, home-based role with regular contact and occasional visits to our Newcastle Upon Tyne head office as well as regular client site visits all across North West area.
Training can be provided for any missing ABBE qualifications. We also support progression toward Chartered Energy Manager status with the Energy Institute within an agreed timeframe.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive site surveys of commercial buildings, including HVAC systems and building elements
Inspect, document and assess condition, performance, and efficiency of building systems
Measure and record key data such as temperature, humidity, airflow, and energy use
Identify defects, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
Produce detailed reports with recommendations for maintenance, repair, upgrades and energy efficiency
Liaise with engineers, facility managers and technicians to communicate findings
Stay up to date with industry standards, regulations and energy efficiency best practices
Requirements
Strong attention to detail and accurate data recording
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Knowledge of building regulations and energy efficiency standards (desirable)
Driving license and willingness to travel to sites across the UK
Compensation
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package - ยฃ30,000.00-ยฃ35,000.00 per year - depending on experience, plus professional development opportunities leading toward Chartered Energy Manager status.
