We relocate honey bee swarms free of charge. We can also help with honey bee colonies and bumble bee colonies when this is needed.
What can you do to help bees?...
🌻Plant pollinator friendly seeds and plants that flower at different times throughout the year. Whatever service you have from Man Of The Land, we give out a packet of pollinator friendly seeds with your invoice.
🌿Dont be in a rush to remove plants from your garden and consider the impact. Ivy is the last major source of pollen for bees in the UK so its really important. Due to the nature of Ivy, we often cut it right back or remove it. When cutting it back, consider if you can leave some of it, rather than removing it all.
💧Bees need a water source to survive. Garden ponds etc are ideal, but even a small bowl of water will do. Just make sure the bees have a platform to enable them to get out. A few pebbles/stones are great. If you have open water butts in your garden, you can buy special floats which are a cheap and easy way of making your water butts safe for bees.
🐝Leave them bee! Bees pollinate roughly a third of the food we eat so they are so important. So when you can, leave them alone and live with them. We understand it's not always possible, but if they are causing you no harm or bother, consider if you can live with them.
