Extra session:
We are delighted to host our ASN pumpkin festival session again this year. It will be held on Saturday 31/10 at 9:30am, guests who are here for this session should complete their visit by 11am unless they feel comfortable when all high sensory aspects of the theme park will be turned on such as lights, smells and loud noises. Details of every aspect of the event will be emailed to all those who have booked in for the ASN session one week prior to the event allowing informed decisions to be made in advance.
Where is it?
Our 2020 Pumpkin Festival will be held within M&D’s Theme Park. Come to the main entrance and follow the signs for Pumpkin Festival. This event is outdoors.
Do I need to book a ticket in advance?
Yes you must pre-purchase this year. Spaces are timed and limited due to Covid procedures in line with Government guidance. Time slots are not flexible.

How can I get there?
The closest train stations are Bellshill or Motherwell, you could walk from either (around 30 minutes) or get a taxi from outside the station.
Alternatively you can drive and enjoy free on-site parking. The Motherwell entrance to the Country Park is still closed and so you should come in through the Raith interchange.
What happens if we go back into lockdown?
If we are unable to go ahead with the event due to Government measures all tickets will be refunded within 7 days.
What happens when I’m there?
When you arrive on site come along to the pumpkin festival ticket desk across from the log flume to collect your tickets. You will receive a ticket for each part of the event: Storytelling, bash a pumpkin game, pumpkin trail and pumpkin express train. If you purchased a hot drink ticket this will be given to you and you can swap it for a hot drink from the Churros unit located next to the White Water Log Flume ride. If you purchased a pumpkin ticket you will receive your pumpkin ticket that can be swapped for a pumpkin from the patch.

Where do I get tickets when I arrive?
Once you get to the main entrance of M&D’s theme park (a mask will be required within the building) follow the signs which take you out to the outside theme park area and direct you to the pumpkin festival ticket desk. You should arrive no later than 15 minutes before your slot time to ensure tickets are collected and you are seated in time for the show beginning.
What toilets do we use?
Toilets are located within the main building and so face coverings must be worn when inside. Toilets are located: within the arcade, within the food court, within the Family Restaurant and within Cosmic Bowl. Accessible toilets and baby change facilities can also be found at each.
Where do I collect my hot drink?
Hot drink tickets can be swapped for a hot drink at the Churros unit which is located within the outside theme park next to the White Water Log Flume ride.
Where should I park my car?
You can enjoy free onsite parking in our main customer car park which can be found behind Alona Hotel. Basically it’s the left directly before the hotel.
Do I need a face covering?
To access the theme park you have to walk through a small section of the building and therefore will need to wear a face covering. Additionally if you go to the toilet or into the building for any reason you must wear a face covering.
IT IS A LEGAL REQUIREMENT TO WEAR A FACE MASK WITHIN THE BUILDING.

Does my 18 month old need a ticket?
Children under the age of 2 do NOT require a ticket to attend, they will however not be entitled to a prize at the bash a pumpkin game or a pumpkin from the patch. There are no age restrictions on our two ticket types (hot drink or pumpkin ticket) and therefore you as the adult may wish to choose a pumpkin ticket and give your prize and pumpkin to your under 2.
Can my child attend with their friend?
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
What Covid-19 safety measures are in place?
Our pumpkin festival 2020 begins with storytelling from Folksy theatre, the seated area is under cover but there will be no sides on our marquee ensuring ventilation, guests will be seated in bubbles of no more than 6 from no more than two households with social distancing separating bubbles. Time slots indicate your exact show time and so you should arrive no less than 15 minutes prior to ensure you have collected your tickets and are seated before the show begins. Each other activity flows from here with distancing and number limitations at each.
Hand sanitiser is available at every entry and exit point within the building as well as extra at high touch points such as the arcade.
Our indoor building is fogged every two weeks to kill and protect all physical items from Covid-19, this is further adhered to by our use of in-house chemical cleaning solutions.
Our toilets are cleaned every 30 minutes which is recorded.
Visitor numbers are limited.
Cleaning procedures have been increased and Covid-19 protocols put in place.
Senior staff and management have completed Covid-19 awareness certification.
Social distancing markings are in place.
Face coverings MUST be worn inside the building.
What’s the prize at the game?
A small prize is given to everyone who has a valid ticket, they are Halloween themed but we don’t want to give too much away.
Can I buy an extra pumpkin?
Yes, you can purchase as many additional pumpkins as you like, they cost £5 each.
Do I get to choose my own pumpkin?
Yes.
Do I need to stick to my time slot?
Absolutely, this is extremely important. It’s also really important that you arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to your show start time to ensure you have your tickets and are seated in time for the show starting.
Does my ticket include points or a wristband?
There are only two ticket options for pumpkin festival at M&D’s 2020, a pumpkin ticket or a hot drink ticket. Each ticket includes; storytelling by Folksy theatre, bash a pumpkin game, pumpkin express train ride and the pumpkin trail. If you choose a pumpkin ticket you also get to choose a pumpkin from the patch. If you choose a hot drink ticket you also get a voucher for a hot drink that can be collected from the Churros unit within the external theme park located next to the White Water Log Flume ride.
