I thought I’d highlight a different side to chimney sweeping today.. It was hard work (and slightly warm) servicing this huge boiler flue which had gone years without maintenance.

On the plus side, no white carpets to contend with and I’m now a bit slimmer and lighter.

Hello! I hope everyone is well. I’ve recently noticed just how much I’ve been neglecting my page. It’s been a long time since my last post, so here’s a quick update. I’m still busily keeping the chimneys of Mid Wales and Borders nice and shiny and I’m currently booked up until around mid August. I’m at the point where it can be a struggle to cope with demand even during summer, so please be patient and consider booking early for Autumn/Winter. I’ve had to implement a price rise to cover the astonishing cost of fuel. As you can imagine, covering such a rural area I use a lot… Finally, here’s a spot the brush from last week where I was back at Broneirion (the home of Girl Guiding in Cymru, no less) in Llandinam. PS I have a different van that’s yet to be sign written!

I arrived at a regular customers house today with the intention of capping a disused chimney. All looked well from the ground, with no sign of bird activity. However, once on the roof a visual check highlighted these little fellows! A VERY quick retreat down the ladders and some time watching from the garden to ensure the parents returned and all was well...

Just a reminder that all birds (excluding game) including eggs and nests are protected by law under the Wildlife and Countryside act. It’s an offence to intentionally kill or injure a bird, or damage or destroy a nest whilst it’s being built.

I’ll return when nesting season is over to complete the job! 🐣🐤🐦🐧
