Working at a holiday let in Silecroft yesterday,
SWEEP of a little Helios and small ROPE replacement.

Stove now clean and tested ready for some more guests to enjoy this coast.

2 OPEN FIRES today. No1 straight forward manual brushes in and out, shiney. No2 had a secret!

Ma-ho-sive, old birds nests🪺, from what I can only assume was a pterodactyl???
6 bags later! Clear and swept.

The CHIMNEY POT did not have a COWL fitted. So over the year’s twig by twig they had blocked it up.

Nobody wants a visit from these legends, good and easy advice to follow.

Cosy nights and crackling fires are a welcome comfort on colder evenings but it’s important to use them safely.

If your log burner or open fire is back in use, make sure your chimney has been swept and your appliance properly serviced to help reduce the risk of chimney fires.

Keep logs, coal and other fuels stored well away from the heat, and always use a spark guard to stop embers escaping.

Don’t let a preventable chimney fire undo the comfort of your evening.

Something a little different today, giving a hand to the local fitter. Lovely Brazilian slate chamber installed ready for the Stove arriving this weekend.

Reminder that the chimney should have a Pre Installation Sweep before install.
Not only will it remove any soot and tar build up but will also highlight if there are problems within the chimney. 👍🛠️🎩🧹
