Men’s Mental Health Month 💙
A lot of people see detailing as cleaning cars. For me, it’s been much more than that.
There was a time when stress, anxiety and low moods felt overwhelming. My mind was constantly racing, and it seemed impossible to switch off. What started as a hobby quickly became something I didn’t realise I needed as a form of therapy.
When I’m detailing, everything else fades into the background. Focusing on every panel, every brush stroke and every finishing touch forces me to slow down and be present. Instead of worrying about things I can’t control, I’m focused on the task in front of me. It’s one of the few places where my mind feels quiet.
Detailing has helped me find a sense of purpose, routine and accomplishment during some difficult periods. Seeing a transformation in a vehicle reminds me that progress doesn’t always happen overnight, but that small, consistent efforts can create incredible results.
This Men’s Mental Health Month, I want to encourage anyone who is struggling to find something that gives them peace, purpose or a sense of calm. For me, it was detailing. It may seem like just cleaning cars to some people, but it helped me feel grounded when I needed it most.
Take care of yourselves, check in on your mates, and remember that looking after your mental health is just as important as looking after everything else. 💙
