This is a lovely story. Laura Ashley had an enormous impact in the valleys around where I live. So many were employed for years and according to people I have met they all said the same they were very well looked after. This chair is from the family collection, made in Aberystwyth 20 plus yrs ago. I was commissioned to give it a new lease of life. From the samples I sent out..."guess what?" they loved the collection Vibrancy by Abraham Moon So that's what I did, I gave it a new lease of life and feel very privileged to have been trusted to do this.

Beautiful Antique Oak Chairs. All needing some tlc! When I stripped them down, I exposed uniformed holes that had been used for rattan seats in a previous life! However my client wanted to replace the foundations and use some of my 'favourite' fabric Abraham Moon wool, Earth Bronze... I felt I cheated a little as I used the brass tack strips. I had to fill in all the drilled holes with a mix of sawdust & PVA so I could put new foundations on and replace the brass studs. However they weren't going in a straight line due to the frames 'wobbly' bits so I made the decision to use the strips.. And 'voila!' perfect straight lines..

So many of my commissions have started with a 'journey' since moving to Wales. And so many involved the not so 'normal' collections or locations.. This is one of those.. Clients live in Madagascar and this is their Wales retreat. The beautiful drop arm Victorian sofa has been in their family for decades. It had been stripped by a relative who had some upholstery experience, however had become unwell so I was asked to take over and give it a new lease of life. minus the mice! And needless to say they fell in love with the beautiful new fabric designs by Abraham Moon Vibrancy Santa Cruz..We managed to get it home Christmas Eve... And it went back the same way it came out however sealed in Plastic over mud and fields by a wheel barrow!

Felt quite privileged to be asked to do this Original 1950's Robin Day Chair. its only the Second time its been recovered however the foundations were definitely the original. So a good sanding to all that needed it and then, new foam & fabric from the • Fabrics, Wallpapers & Cushions Juno Denim. Its home and looking a little better and hopefully a lot more comfortable.

This old beauty has been in the same family for many years... It has been crudely fixed up over the years with lots of metal brackets. It was decided not to touch these but 'fix' it up.. it really was a very 'crude' build and hard to tell when wings were added. so I did what I love to do best. realistic approach with a combination of traditional & modern skills. But the best bit was the finish... with my favourite Wool Abraham Moon. Glencova Teal.. its home and being loved again..

Edwardian Grandfathers chair. Its not an Heirloom however it has been given some tlc and finished in the stunning Linwood • Fabrics, Wallpapers & Cushions
Omega Velvet in Burnt Orange and piping and buttons in Cobalt Blue.. a great choice of contrasts to the beautiful Harris Tweed Isle of Harris sofa & chair. Its home a two very pleased clients..

I felt quite honoured to do this chair. An old Laura Ashley chair that belonged to a family member. The valleys around where I live all have a strong connection to Laura Ashley as she had factories and shops here.
So I was a little surprised when after some samples from various suppliers were sent out and the choice was wool from Abraham Moon the new collection Vibrance.. with some scatter cushions as well. A real transformation fin my opinion and loved by my clients.. so that was good🥰

Another lovely heirloom.. my clients live abroad and the collection of this was another story by itself.. wheelbarrows, mud knee deep, mice to mention a few things.. another reason why I love what I do.. so my clients aunt started this but became too poorly to continue so I took it over.. it was collected In bits as it is a drop arm sofa.. traditional rebuild was requested. So after the mice escaped I started back down to the springs and strengthened the ties.. then the coir, scrim, front edge rolls, horsehair, cotton wool felt , calico, and dacron. Guess what? They saw images of my previous commission and loved it and wanted the same beautiful wool by abrahammoonsons collection Vibrance Santa Cruz.. just such a lovely combination of colours & My favourite to use.. Then Christmas Eve I arrived home and they came to collect. It didn’t fit In their vehicle so we followed them to the back of beyond up a very steep hill
In forestry in the dark and it was very dark,narrow & slippery.. no lights no road to the house both vehicles couldn’t make it through the tractor ruts & knee high mud. They left it in the back of their vehicle with seats down and are going to retrieve it with wheelbarrows tomorrow.. it’s wrapped in plastic so hopefully that will protect it all.. what a Christmas present? They were thrilled, I received a lovely bottle of wine and a promise of photos in situ .. All in a day of an Upholsterer in MidWales😂
