I was asked by one of the local social care providers to visit a house that was in a very bad condition. The owner was seriously ill in hospital ☹️ the house had to be made clean safe made welcoming for the owner to recover.
I’ve worked in lots of different places, each place needing different the levels of cleaning. I’ve got a strong stomach I’ve worked on building site with lots of men that don’t know still how to use a toilet 🤮🤢
I wasn’t prepared for what i would come across when visiting the house.
The owner had 2 cats that for the last 5 months had been living in the house 💩😷😷 A very kind neighbour had been feeding them outside of the house as the smell was too much. I had PPE on but the smell of ammonia was too much. My eyes watered my stomach turned.
The house was not habitable for the cat let alone a human 😥
It made me really sad,
1: That the owner had gotten so overwhelmed with life in every possible way and had ended up living in such poor conditions.
2: The poor little cats were suffering 💔in the house.
I agreed to take on the job but my priority was the cats wellbeing. I’d worked as a veterinary nurse for years before I opened Camille cleaning, I couldnt leave the cats in the house fro too much longer. Getting the help and the owner to sign them over to be fostered would be challenging.
Over the next week, I organised for the my lovely friend from cat’s protection to try to help me help the cats.
Unfortunately the owner of the house sadly passed away. 😢
Even though I didn’t end up doing any work on the house. I managed to save the cats 🫶🏻🫶🏻 Sylvia picked them up, got them health checked and fostered them. Big thanks to her & cats protection. 🥰🥰
My mantra it’s nice to be nice✌🏻
