Yesterday, I attended Grow London Local’s Meet the Founder event, and one of my biggest takeaways was the importance of human connection.

The speakers shared honest reflections on what it really takes to build a business—the challenges, the resilience, the lessons learned and the purpose that keeps you going.

A big thank you to Sadia Ramzan, Founder & CEO of The 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐦 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩, Joe Wicks, Founder of The Body Coach, and Mercedes Gale Parr, Founder of Sustainable Weddings and Eco Events, for sharing your journeys so openly. Hearing about the realities behind building and growing your businesses was inspiring and a reminder that every successful business has a story behind it.

One point Mercedes Gale Parr Sustainable Weddings and Eco Events shared that really stayed with me was the importance of humanising a business—letting people see the person behind the brand and understand the values and purpose that drive it.

It made me reflect on my own journey as the Founder and Managing Director of Ace Elite Cleaning Services Ltd | Cleaning Company.

We’re proud of the standards we deliver and the trust our clients place in us. But behind the services we provide is a passion for creating cleaner, safer and more welcoming spaces for the people we serve.

As founders, it’s easy to focus on what we do and the results we achieve. But sometimes we need to share more about why we do it, the journey behind it and the people who make it happen.

This event was a great reminder for me to share more of that journey—not just the work we deliver, but the values and experiences that shape the way we operate.
