Cat Hair vs Dog Hair: Is There a Difference When Cleaning?
If you share your home with pets, you've probably noticed that not all pet hair is created equal!
Cat hair is often finer and lighter, which means it can cling to fabrics, bedding, curtains, and upholstery. It also tends to become airborne more easily, settling on shelves, skirting boards, and other surfaces around the home.
Dog hair is usually thicker and heavier. Depending on the breed, it can collect quickly on floors, carpets, rugs, and furniture. During shedding seasons, it can seem like there's a never-ending supply!
Cleaning Tips for Both:
β Vacuum regularly using a vacuum designed for pet hair
β Use microfiber cloths to capture loose hair from surfaces
β Wash pet bedding frequently
β Brush pets regularly to reduce shedding around the home
β Don't forget corners, skirting boards, and underneath furniture where hair often gathers
Whether you have a cat, a dog, or both, keeping on top of pet hair little and often is usually much easier than tackling a large build-up later.
