Welcome BACK ECO FRIENDS ❤️

❗️Today we would like to share with you some news about zero waste cleaning recipes ❗️🌟

🥳 The best part of wholly embracing zero waste cleaning supplies is that you can pretty much use the same four or five different ingredients in any number of useful ways 🤩

🔥 SIMPLE CARPET/FABRIC SPRAY :

1 part water
1 part vodka or witch hazel
4-5 drops of essential oil (optional)

❗️Mix all the ingredients together in a spray bottle and use as necessary. Don’t worry, the smell goes away as vodka evaporates so you won’t smell like you’ve had a few when you get to work❗️

🔥ALL PURPOSE SPRAY:

White vinegar
Citrus rinds (or other scent of choice!)

❗️ Put the citrus rinds in a container and cover with vinegar. Let sit for at least a week, but can be left longer. I make a huge batch all at once and just pour it into my spray jar as needed. Eventually your citrus rinds will turn grey which means it’s time to take them out. At that point, I’ll drain all the liquid and toss the peels into the compost ❗️

🔥ZERO WASTE ENZYME CLEANER

❗️For those who don’t know, enzyme cleaners are cleaners that break down protein, starch, or fat-based messes (ie. natural ones) when other cleaners may just mask the smell but not remove the problem❗️

10 parts warm water
3 parts citrus peels
1 part sugar
1 tablespoon yeast

❗️Add all ingredients to a jar and seal. Burp (open the lid) the jar daily to let off pressure. Do this for about a week before the mixture settled ❗️

Do you know that all essential oils works in the different ways? 🔥

When you are using them for cleaning you will want to make sure you use the right essential oils for the job 🤩

Some do a great work at killing off germs and some are a wonderful degreaser💯

🍋Lemon essential oil works great in the kitchen & bathroom. You can use it to cut grease and as a disinfectant. It’s also antiviral so you can use it during cold and flu season in the bathroom & around the home.

✅Peppermint- Peppermint essential oil smells great & is also a fantastic antibacterial solution. You can use it in the bathroom & around the house to kill off bacteria. It also works well at getting rid of stale smells in the home.

🌳Tea Tree- Tea Tree essential oil is antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral. It works great in the bathroom to get rid of mold and mildew. It’s perfect for an all-purpose spray around the house.

🌪Lavender- Lavender essential oil works well for the laundry room & bathroom. It also prevents mold & mildew plus it smells great. You can add a couple drops to your laundry for fresh smelling clothes.

💥Rosemary- Rosemary essential oil is antibacterial. It works great in the kitchen & bath to kill off viruses and germs. You can add it to a homemade sink cleaner to keep your sink free from bacteria.

🌲Pine- Pine essential oil helps kill off household germs. It works to help make your house smell good and disinfect. You can add to a homemade floor cleaner to kill off germs & have a fresh smelling room.

🌾Thyme- Thyme essential oil helps kill off germs and bacteria. It works great in kitchen cleaners because it kills off salmonella. You can easily add it to counter sprays to keep kitchen surfaces clean & free from bacteria.

🍊Orange- Orange essential oil is a fantastic degreaser. It is a good oil to add to any stove or oven cleaner that you make to help break down grease and grime. It also works well on countertops that have grease spatters
