Responsibilities
1. To carry out external window cleaning duties via cradles, MEWPS, ladders, reach and wash systems and feet on floor
2. To work effectively to provide a high standard of workmanship.
3. To ensure be professional and courteous to all residents, clients and staff.
4. To ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner, in line with the current Health & Safety Legislation.
5. Carry out any requests as required by the supervisor.
6. To attend meetings as required by Sanderson Cleaning Services Ltd.
7. Ensure all plant and equipment is in good working order, used correctly and safely. Report any defects immediately the supervisor.
8. To provide effective communications between the team and the supervisor.
9. To adhere to Sanderson Cleaning Services Ltd procedures in particular Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety. Smoking and Alcohol and Drug Policy.

Single Use Plastics Within Our Industry

At SCS, we are committed to developing a fully sustainable approach to the services we offer.

Within our industry the standard product used to clean glass is Fairy Liquid, I have calculated that on an annual basis, just within SCS, we use approximately 915 (900ml) bottles. This is 915 single use plastic bottles going into landfill. After a simple Google search I found a 5L bottle of Fairy that we can use to decant to smaller bottles. This still isn’t good enough. That is still 164 5L plastic containers that end up in landfill.

I contacted Proctor and Gamble to ask them if they would be willing to produce bigger containers, the answer was no. I asked them if I could visit their factory in Essex to refill my own containers, the answer was no. I asked them if they were willing to open a line of communication to discuss a solution, I’m still waiting for a response.....

Think how many Window Cleaning companies there are across the country…..now think about how many bottles we use…… The fix is so easy, so I am asking you to contact Proctor and Gamble and ask them the same question. Surely if enough of us contact them they will be forced to make a change?
