💙 A Surprise Reunion Full of Smiles 💙

During our recent staff retreat, Lea travelled from Scotland to Plymouth for the first time in several years. While she was here, there was one person she couldn't wait to see... Heather!

Heather had no idea Lea was coming, making the reunion an unforgettable surprise. The moment they saw each other again was filled with huge smiles, happy tears and warm hugs. It was an emotional moment for them both, and as Lea said, it felt "like I'd never been away."

Having worked closely together for many years, Lea and Heather shared countless adventures, from holidays and days out to cosy evenings watching Heather's favourite soaps. They supported one another through life's ups and downs, including the challenges of COVID, and built a friendship that has remained strong ever since. Even after Lea moved to Scotland, they continued to keep in touch through regular FaceTime calls, and Heather has never forgotten Lea's birthday.

Making time to surprise Heather was Lea's top priority during her visit. Together they enjoyed dinner, watched the England game, looked through old photos and laughed as they reminisced about so many happy memories they had created together.

Seeing the joy on both of their faces was a beautiful reminder that the relationships built through genuine, person-centred support can last a lifetime. 💙

New Home. New Team. New Chapter for Peter. We’re not just hiring for a shift; we’re building a brand-new team in Dumfries for a young man who is ready to be the leader of his own life.

After a patient wait, Peter is finally moving into his own home, and he needs a dedicated crew of Support Workers, a Senior, and a Team Leader to help him navigate this adventure from Day 1. If you believe in independence over barriers, we want to meet you.

Peter isn’t looking for a bystander; he wants to be the leader of his own life. He is autistic and thrives on routine and structure, so he needs a team that is consistent, calm, and sees “opportunities over barriers”.

His Hopes and Dreams include:

Building Independence: Developing his autonomy in his new home.
Everyday Skills: Getting involved in food prep, cooking, baking, and looking after his home.

Digital Growth: Developing his tech skills and safety on the computer.

Staying Active: Socialising, making plans with friends, and enjoying his interests like singing and swimming.

The Roles

We are standing up an entire team and have three distinct roles available:

Team Leader (£28,315): You will lead and coach the team, ensuring Peter remains at the helm of his own life. Previous experience is essential.

Senior Support Worker (£26,814): Working alongside the Team Leader, you’ll help support the team to make this transition a positive experience. Previous experience is essential.

Support Worker (£24,570): You’ll be on the front lines helping Peter with everything from food prep to swimming trips. Experience is desired but not essential, as all training is provided.

A Driver: Peter loves going out, so being able to get him where he needs to go is a must.

A Great Communicator: Good verbal and written skills are essential for all roles.

Flexible: The roles involve a mix of day shifts, sleepovers, and waking nights.

We’re hiring: Trainee Finance Lead ⚖️

Are you looking for the opportunity to grow your accountancy career while making a real difference? Beyond Limits are looking for a Trainee Finance Lead to join our supportive and values-driven finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to learn, develop and progress, with mentoring from our Finance Director and a clear pathway to Finance Lead within around 12 months as part of our succession planning.

Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 per year (dependent on experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Holiday: 7 weeks per year
Contract: Permanent, with pension scheme and company sick pay
Location: Hybrid role. Mainly home-based, with regular face-to-face meetings at our Plymouth Head Office

You’ll support the accurate recording of financial transactions using Sage, help prepare management accounts, cash flow statements and Individual Service Fund reports, and work closely with budget holders and our leadership team.

We’re looking for someone who is not just technically capable, but compassionate, values-led and interested in becoming a “human accountant” who believes in the capacity of all people, regardless of disability.
