In Belgium, some bus stops are designed to collect rainwater directly from their roofs, turning everyday structures into small water-harvesting systems. Instead of letting rain simply run off, it is guided into hidden storage units beneath or beside the stop.

This collected water is later reused for practical tasks like cleaning nearby streets or watering plants in the area. It reduces the need for fresh water while making use of a resource that would otherwise be lost.

Over time, this simple system connects public infrastructure with sustainability. A place meant for waiting becomes part of a larger cycle — showing how even small design choices can help conserve resources while supporting the surrounding environment.
