Exposed gutters, fascias & soffits just like window frames build up films of dirt over time, this dirt is sufficient to allow a biofilm and later green algae to grow. As we know, nature has a way of always moving back in.
Sadly & exactly, because uPVC stains over time (because it is porous) it’s important to address & clean surface dirt, bio-films & green algae within a year or two to optimise the whiteness, maintain brilliance and look of your gutter fascia line.

In this case, a lapse of 4 or 5 years had a green algae build up (as shown in the most of the early photographs). Luckily, with effort, a bespoke mix of cleaning agents (always mixed by myself) and delivered in a clinging initial snow foam, with added brush spray on’s all of the gutter line came up well. Only some water hardness limescale was left in small patches, this being reduced by using spot application of limescale reducer. Many window cleaners don’t have the knowledge, skill set or know how to tackle these jobs but I feel its an important service a window cleaner should be able to offer, especially as I know & take care of my clients buildings & uPVC. Downpipes are always included for free.

As well as cleaning internal gutters, exterior gutter lines, soffits & fascias I very often I find on the standard inspection, ladder visual, camera check and sluice drain test that some gutters fail. They either leak or fail due to the downpipe blockages.
Also, as in this case although one section failed due to aged seals the other section was so badly affected with limescale build up the gutter no longer aesthetically looked good after a thorough clean. Sometimes its just better to renew and replace sections. I also can renew and re-gutter entire properties, often saving clients 20% or more on typical roofing prices.

My professional pure water brush pole system benefits the customers window frames as part of the regular window clean. Something only 20% of window cleaners offer. This is done free of any surcharge.
However to start a new round customer it is important to do a deep double first clean. This takes twice the time (is billed at twice the window cleaning rate as a one-off) and includes a full degreasing of frames & glass using cleaning agents, followed thereafter with pure water cleaning.
I use my own mix of cleaning agents, which includes a powerful formula of a degreasing agent, a surface particulate agitator (to get dirt to move) and a surfactant to leave a streak free shine. Anybody who has a deep double first clean which is 95% of customers always comments on the new looking frames and glossy window effect!

This new customer had the misfortune to move to a house which had been in probate for over 2yrs without any window cleans. As a result they were in a bit of a state! With windows this bad I apply my cleaning agents as a snow foam so they can sit there longer to activate a deep clean. Applied as snow foam and left to dwell for 20 - 30 mins. Mild pressure wash with a lance jet, careful & thorough brush, followed by a rinse with pure water systems.
