After a lot of thinking, I’ve made the difficult decision to close Harvey’s Detailing until further notice.
This definitely wasn’t an easy decision to make. Over the last three years, this business has been a huge part of my life. I started back in 2023 when I was just 13 years old with Harvey’s Services, doing dog walking and gardening after school and at weekends. I never imagined it would grow into what it became.
As I’ve got older, my goals have changed too. Having now left school, I’m putting all of my time and energy into launching my new hospitality social media management business. It’s something I’m really passionate about, and right now it needs to be my main focus. I’m not sure whether Harvey’s Detailing will reopen in the future, but for now I’m closing this chapter.
Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who supported me along the way. Every booking, recommendation, share, kind comment and bit of encouragement meant more than you probably realised. You gave a young lad the chance to build something of his own, and I’ll always be thankful for that.
There are also a few people I want to personally thank Graham, for kindly giving me my trailer, SPA Construction for donating £300 towards a mower, and everyone else who helped me with equipment, advice or simply believed in what I was doing. Your support helped me keep going and achieve things I never thought I would at 13.
Running this business has taught me so much. It’s taught me how to work hard, speak to customers, solve problems, build confidence and appreciate the value of earning something yourself. Those are lessons I’ll take with me for the rest of my life.
To everyone who has been part of this journey over the last three years, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Whether you’ve been there from the very beginning or only recently, you’ve all played a part in my story.
