🎨✨ A DAY FULL OF CRAFTY CREATIONS & A SPECIAL END TO THE DAY! 🌙💫

What a lovely day we’ve had with our residents! 💕 Our day was filled with creativity, laughter and plenty of crafty creations, with everyone getting involved and putting their own personal touch into their masterpieces. 🎨🖌️✂️

It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves, sharing ideas and having a good old chat along the way. 🥰

And to finish off such a lovely day, we headed outside to enjoy a little bit of sky-watching and watching the eclipse 🌙✨ — a beautiful way to end the day together!

A big well done to all our residents for their fantastic creations, and a huge thank you to our wonderful team for making the day so enjoyable. 💙

🍽️💙 PROTECTIVE MEALTIMES AT BEDFORD CARE HOME 💙🍽️

We are introducing Protective Mealtimes across the home to help ensure our residents can enjoy their meals in a calm, relaxed and dignified environment.

We have noticed an increase in visitors during mealtimes, and although we absolutely value the involvement of our families and friends, the additional activity can sometimes be distracting for residents who are eating or receiving support.

Protective mealtimes will help us to:

✨ Protect residents’ privacy and dignity
✨ Reduce unnecessary distractions
✨ Ensure residents receive the support they need
✨ Create a calm and enjoyable dining experience
✨ Give residents the opportunity to socialise and enjoy their meals together

❤️ This is absolutely not about stopping family visits. We understand how important visits are to our residents and their loved ones. We simply ask, wherever possible, that visits are planned outside of protected mealtimes.

If a resident needs family support during their meal, please speak with a member of our care team so we can make appropriate arrangements.

✨💖 Pamper Day & a Very Special 80th Birthday! 🎂🎉

What a gorgeous day we’ve had at the home! 💕 Our residents enjoyed a wonderful Pamper Day, with lots of relaxing, smiling, chatting and a little bit of well-deserved TLC. 💅🧖‍♀️💆‍♀️

And we had an extra special reason to celebrate as we wished our lovely Janet a very Happy 80th Birthday! 🥳🎂💐

Janet was surrounded by friends, staff and lots of birthday love as we celebrated this very special milestone. ❤️

The first Advinia homes to begin working towards Veteran Friendly Framework accreditation are:

💜 Meaningful Moments That Make a Difference 💜

Over the last few days, our residents have enjoyed a variety of meaningful activities, including relaxing pamper and nail sessions 💅, comforting doll therapy 🧸 and heartwarming reminiscence sessions 💭.

These activities are enjoyable for all our residents, but they are especially important for those living with dementia. Familiar experiences, gentle sensory activities and opportunities to reminisce can help reduce anxiety, provide comfort, encourage communication and promote a sense of identity and purpose. They can spark memories, create moments of connection and bring smiles that truly brighten the day.

Whether it’s the confidence boost of having freshly painted nails, the reassurance and nurturing feelings encouraged through doll therapy, or sharing stories from years gone by, every activity is carefully planned to support emotional wellbeing and enhance quality of life.

At Bedford Care Home, we believe that meaningful engagement is at the heart of great dementia care, ensuring every resident feels valued, respected and supported to live each day with joy and dignity. ❤️

🎉 Happy 60th Birthday, Denise! 🎂🥳

Today we celebrated a very special milestone as our wonderful Denise finished work to begin her birthday celebrations! 🎈

Denise sets sail on Friday for a fantastic cruise with her friends to celebrate her 60th birthday in style – and she truly deserves it! 🚢🌊🍾

We’re not sure the captain knows what’s about to hit the ship when Denise comes aboard! 😂 We have no doubt she’ll keep everyone entertained and make it a cruise to remember!

Denise is a much-loved member of our Bedford Care Home family, and we hope she has the most amazing time making unforgettable memories on her adventure.

From all of us at Bedford, we wish you the happiest of birthdays and an incredible holiday. Enjoy every moment – we’ll miss you, but we can’t wait to hear all about your cruise when you’re back! ❤️

🎨✨ Creativity was in full swing at Bedford Care Home today as our residents enjoyed a fun and engaging playdough session using a variety of moulds and tools.

Activities like this are so much more than just arts and crafts. Working with playdough helps to maintain hand strength, improve fine motor skills and encourage creativity, while the different textures provide wonderful sensory stimulation.

For our residents living with dementia, familiar hands-on activities can help reduce anxiety, encourage communication, spark memories and provide a calming, enjoyable experience. There were plenty of smiles, laughter and conversations as everyone shared ideas and admired each other’s creations.

It was lovely to see residents expressing themselves, supporting one another and enjoying quality time together. Every masterpiece was unique – proving that creativity has no age! 💙🌈

🎬🍿 Cinema Day at Bedford Care Home! 🍿🎬

Today, we transformed our salon into a cosy cinema, complete with popcorn, sweets, and plenty of comfy seating! 🍬✨

Residents from all of our houses came together to enjoy a relaxing afternoon watching a film. It was wonderful to see everyone sharing smiles, chatting before the movie started, and then settling in so quietly to enjoy the big-screen experience. The room was filled with warmth, comfort, and a lovely sense of togetherness.

Sometimes it’s the simple things that create the most special memories. ❤️
