Original hallway floor that had a few damaged tiles, these were carefully removed and original tiles relaid.
The floor was then stripped of an old sealer, deep cleaned and sealed with a breathable sealer.

These quarry tiles had some old topical seal on the tiles which had been applied years ago. Also it had paint and builders dirt build up so was in need of a strip and deep clean.
The porch area also needed a deep clean and seal.

Original hallway floor that had a few damaged tiles which were removed and new tiles cut to fit and relaid.
The floor was also in need of a machine deep clean as dirt had built up over time making it hard to clean with standard mopping.
Once dry it was sealed with a breathable sealer.

This week I’ve been finishing off at All Saints’ Church in Stamford. I’ve been working here over the last few weeks to fit in with the church’s schedule.

The floor tiles are over 150 years old with some areas being covered in carpet for over 40 years.

There were numerous loose, missing and damaged tiles. These were carefully repaired/relaid using original tiles from other areas of the church floor.
Once all set the floor was deep cleaned by machine and sealed with a breathable impregnating sealer.

The floor was the last part of a large restoration project on the church. If you are in Stamford the church is well worth a visit!

Something a bit different to the floors I normally work on. This altro wet floor can easily build up dirt over time due to the surface of the floor. Using the correct products and equipment it can be cleaned and looking back to new.

This week I’ve been back in sunny Stamford.
This church floor had lots of damaged and loose tiles that had to be carefully removed and replaced with original tiles lifted from other sections of the floor.

I will be back next week to start the cleaning and sealing of all the floors😃

This church floor project was started a few years ago by another contractor. I was contacted to complete the tiling.

I used modern equivalent tiles which are thinner and slightly smaller than the original floor tiles.
I levelled the floor, then had to cut all the black rectangles and red triangles from larger tiles.
These were then carefully laid and spaced out to line up and meet with the original pattern.
Once set it was grouted.
No cleaning or sealing on this one.

Bit of a change last couple of days as I deep cleaned and sealed this travertine stone floor which I last cleaned over 8 years ago.
A clean and seal was well overdue.

I also removed a couple of marks from the slate hallway floor.
