The other day, I put a post on about silly rates advertised by cleaners.

Im not going to lie, I undercharged for years .

Why?

Through not knowing my numbers.
Fear of losing clients and having to let staff go.
Not knowing our worth as a company.
Pricing as a cleaner, not a business owner.

That all changed last year because it had to.

What's the point in being fully booked, if you cant sustain providing the service because you arent making enough?

None.

Since then?

Mindset changed.
Profit has been made
Investment has happened
And an even better service can be given than before.

I look back now, and think what a silly woman I was for a long time.

Now, im proud 👊

Just seen a cleaner advertising their services for £10 an hour…

We all know what the minimum wage is, right? 🤔

Would you apply for a position in a company for £10 per hour?

The obvious answer is no.

Why are people still undervaluing themselves like this?

Cleaning is hard, physical work. It takes time, effort, attention to detail, and trust.

£10 an hour doesn’t even reflect the skill and energy that goes into doing the job properly, let alone cover costs!

When you price yourself that low, you’re not just hurting yourself — you’re bringing down the standard for everyone else in the industry too.

Know your worth. Charge what your time and effort actually deserve. 💪
