⚽ From Lionesses to Lifeguards: Why Backup isn’t Second Best

Last weekend’s Euro 2025 quarter-final saw England’s Lionesses shake things up. With star striker Beth Mead and rising talent Aggie Beever-Jones coming off the bench to score, they reminded us that substitutes aren’t just fillers - they’re game-changers.

We see the same power play in pool safety. Automated detection systems aren’t replacing lifeguards, they’re expanding the bench. It’s called Blended Lifeguarding - a strategic setup where technology and human expertise work side by side, each ready to take the lead when it counts.

Because in both football and aquatic safety:
- Timing is everything 🕐
- Vision wins games 👀
- And when backup steps in, lives can change 🛟

Just as a coach doesn’t field eleven solo stars, lifeguard teams don’t rely on one mode of monitoring. Cameras don’t get tired. Lifeguards read the room. Together, they cover the pitch - and the pool - better than either could alone.
