Did you know Shampooing your carpet prolongs it’s life?
Over time tiny grains of dirt and dust get forced deep in to the carpet fibres. Whenever these fibres get walked on, sat on or even vacuumed they act like sandpaper and rub away at the fibres and the carpet matting. Over time this causes thinning and bald spots.
Taking outdoor shoes off can slow the build up of the particles that cause the sandpaper effect but won’t remove it entirely.
You could place matting or a rug over high traffic areas but then what’s the point in having a nice carpet?
The best way to extend the life of your carpet and reduce the wear and tear is to shampoo it as regularly as you can.

Diary of a Cleaner, it’s a dirty job but should anybody do it?

Trying to hike up to a Glamping dome to clean it in a storm. Had to take vacuum and all my other bits and pieces up in a trolley and every time I opened the door more muddy leaves blew in. 2 hours work (not including the hike and travel time) for £25 (plus vat) 😒 some jobs just not worth doing! With travel time, fuel and material costs this worked out at just over £4 per hour. Moral of the story - people will pay the equivalent of £40 an hour for someone to wash the outside of their windows but those they let in to their homes to clean everything else are worth a whole lot less and a whole lot more is expected of them.
For the cleaning staff we have, we are fully booked for the next few weeks, unfortunately with high levels of last minute (literally) cancellations we are still running at a significant loss. We will need to experiment with alternative booking options (full payment in advance) and increase prices by 100%. Let’s see what the future brings…

Experienced Cleaner needed for Jobs on Monday, Tuesday and Friday each week. Must have own transport and be able to collect another cleaner in Kilmarnock Area to go to jobs. £12 per hour while cleaning plus fuel costs to get to each job.
