Wrap up your jumpers, a moth infestation has arrived! The UK's wardrobes are under attack after a humid September.
These pests feed on lambswool, cashmere, tweed, sheepskin and fur. This year, the UK saw highest September temperature (34°C) since 1911. As the temperature starts to drop, people are opening drawers and cupboards that to find that their best woolen jumpers are full of holes.
A plague of moths is sweeping through the nation's wardrobes, pest control bosses have warned.The pests - common clothes moths which feed on wool and natural fibres such as cashmere, tweed, sheepskin and fur - are busy eating through our favourite jumpers and cardigans in millions of homes in the UK. The clothes moths, called Tineola bisselliella, are not like other moths - which are attracted to light - and prefer 'dark and warm' habitats, like the bottom of a chest of drawers or wardrobes.
