This is the story of our new place in Kelso. It has been a busy few months adjusting to life here in the borders. It is an attractive town with everything we need. It is a quiet and slower pace of life. Some things take longer to happen, eg getting internet up and running took almost a month. But it was worth the wait. These things have taught us patience. It has been a big change; we moved from a small 2 bedroom flat to a good sized three bedroom house with a conservatory and garden. And it has a lot to do; including a garden full of weeds, a bamboo plant that is ruling over the garden, a deep house clean, catching spiders (Ana hates them) and a window that was glued shut. We’ve encountered uninvited slugs, more and more things that need to be fixed, frozen doors, there is just a few supermarkets here but the countryside is on our doorstep with beautiful new places to cycle and explore. In the spring I plan to paint the shed and the fence (it has been damp here not now). We also didn’t know anyone when we arrived but it has been great to be part of the church community here.
Now our focus is more on helping others with maintenance and general garden tidy up. We can help with grass cutting, weeding, cutting back plants and outdoor painting. We still do cleaning but when it is beautiful day outside it is great to be out in the garden. We are happy to help you in whatever way we can. And our flyers have been out and we plan to deliver them all over Kelso. But wherever you are in the borders (Scottish or English) we can totally help you!
We won’t do a special Christmas post this year so hope you all have a happy Christmas and we hope to post in the new year!
