I started this business 7 years ago and one of my first customers was Colin. A man living on his own in his very late 70’s with a heart of gold 💛 and a contentment for life that made my heart swell. Today, I’ve said my final goodbyes. Rest in peace Colin. You’ll be missed greatly 🥲 but I will remember your warmth and your kind soul x

Another year done! I feel extremely lucky to be able to do my job. Since starting this venture in 2015, I’ve created very special bonds with my customers over the years and some still remain with me from the very beginning ☺️. Thank you to each and every one. Merry Christmas and Happy new year 🥳

Whilst the world is resting and taking a break
Humanity is thrown into rapid awake
Masses of citizens all dealing with scare
Yet still operating kindliness, solicitude and care

Whilst the world is resting and watching us survive
Nature is thriving and the planet comes alive
The air becomes cleaner but we’re forbidden outside
We’re informed to stay in to keep others alive

Whilst the world is resting and protecting itself
Communities rally to take care of each other’s health
Time is of no essence and we show good intent
Because every moment is so preciously spent

Whilst the world is resting and savouring the lull
The nations are using this time to mull
What if we all slowed and took time out for our society
And eventually become adapted to this sense of sobriety

Whilst the world is resting and the inhabitants pull together
The virus subsides. The gratitude will last forever
Neighbourhoods will gather to give thanks and reunite
People will forever talk of the covid-19 fight

When the world has finished resting and the nations all come together
Communities will remember how the world got better
The planet has done its job now and it’s time to carry on
But it’s feeling rather contented as to what it has become.

Due to the current government advice, Sparkle Dust has had to cease just for the ‘time being’. It’s been a very tough decision, but of course the right one.
People may think that I’m only going to clean my customers houses, but this is not true. My clients are very much like friends. Some live on their own and I am the only person they see. Others are extremely vulnerable and rely on my help. I feel like I’ve had to desert them at a time they probably need me the most. I have told my most vulnerable clients that I will call them weekly to check how they are. All my other customers know If they need shopping I will drop it by the door for them. They also know they can call me whenever they need to. It’s been tough this week for many many people, and sometimes it’s not as clear cut what needs to be done, but I feel this is the best I can offer right now until we come through the other side, AND WE WILL!
