🚨 Carbon Monoxide Alarm🚨
Last week, we attended an incident that serves as an important reminder of the dangers of carbon monoxide (CO). A family were at home, about to go to bed when their carbon monoxide alarm suddenly sounded! They called 999 and Fire Control advised them to leave the property immediately and wait outside in fresh air.
When we arrived, the family were feeling unwell, showing signs of carbon monoxide poisoning—shortness of breath and nausea. Wearing Breathing Apparatus our crews checked the property and confirmed high levels of this invisible, odourless, and deadly gas. Had they not had an alarm to warn them, the outcome could have been very different!
Carbon monoxide (CO) is the most common form of household poison. You can't see it, taste it or smell it. Carbon monoxide poisoning can be fatal or cause permanent damage to your health‼️
What to do if a carbon monoxide alarm goes off

🚒🚑In a medical emergency, don't delay, call 999 immediately.
