📣 SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY 📣

As we get closer to the Skelmanthorpe community centre Y11/Y13 Pop Up Prom Shop on 7 March 2026, donations of prom clothing, shoes and accessories are still very welcome.

Alongside this, we’d like to put out one more small request...

The Community Centre would love to offer simple refreshments on the day to help make the space feel relaxed and welcoming to the young people and their parents/carers walking through the doors, and we'd like to kindly ask for some sponsorship from either businesses or individuals 🙏

If you’d like to support the event through sponsorship, we’re keeping it simple and flexible:

• £5, or a few packs of biscuits
• £10, or a tray of soft drinks
• £20, or a small selection of nibbles

We really don’t need much, and every contribution helps.

As a thank you, both Skelmanthorpe Community Centre and HD8 Life CIC will give social media shout-outs to businesses who support the Pop Up Prom Shop.

Have any donations for our young ones ?

Prom season is on the way, and a brilliant community initiative is coming together at Skelmanthorpe community centre this March...

On Saturday 7 March, the centre is hosting a Pop-Up Prom Shop to help make prom more accessible for local young people aged 16–18. Alongside dresses, there’s a real need right now for suits and non-dress prom outfits - and this is where the HD8 community can really help.

If you have a suit, blazer, shirt, trousers or smart prom-appropriate outfit that’s clean, in good condition and no longer needed, donating it could make a genuine difference. These pieces help ensure everyone can walk into prom feeling confident, comfortable and themselves.

HD8 Life is helping to spread the word, but Skelmanthorpe Community Centre is leading on the event and all donations. If you’re able to help, or want to ask any questions about donating, please contact the centre directly at [email protected].

Every item stays local, supporting young people in our community. Just think, that suit hiding at the back of your wardrobe could become someone’s “I actually feel great” moment 🖤

Prom season is on our young ones what a great idea!

✨️ CAN YOU HELP? ✨️

Skelmanthorpe community centre is seeking donations of prom suits, dresses and accessories to support their upcoming Pop-Up Prom Shop on Saturday 7 March 2026.

They’re very keen to hear from anyone who has items to pass on free of charge, in a clean, wearable condition, especially:

🤵 Suits suitable for young people (16–18 year olds)
👗 Prom dresses
👠 Shoes and accessories suitable for prom

If you’ve got something tucked away that could be worn and enjoyed again, this is a lovely way to support a local, community-led initiative.
