This week has been allergy awareness week … this is a subject close to my heart. I started Sustainaclean because I was working for a cleaning company and started getting really weird symptoms. Every time I left work I was wheezing, had a bright red hot burning face and my skin was sore all over. It didn’t take me long to realise it was the products. I was wearing PPE but it still happened.

I remember cleaning a shower feeling like this and thinking “what if I start and eco cleaning company so I don’t react so much, and clients don’t react so much to products. Surely there is a need?”

Turns out there most definitely is a need! It’s been a great few years with less chemical allergies. Not only that but regular cleaning cuts done on dust allergy problems (among others).

I’ve even formulated my own low allergen cleaning products which I will let you all know about soon!

Today we've been working in the beautiful village of Henfield for a client who is super appreciative of everything we do for her. Family life doesn't get much more hectic than this - a super busy schedule with her three lovely children, two dogs, one cat and a full time job on top. Coming home to a clean and refreshed space after a long day, makes Wednesday the best day of the week for her.

Today I wanted to share a story about one of our clients. She is a busy, working mum of 3. She has recently had to increase her hours at work, in order to support the family & as her kids have got that little bit older. She came to us almost in tears. She was trying to do it all; trying to work, cook from scratch, be there for the boys' to help with homework & keep the house clean. For her, the house being dirty just made her mental health feel so awful she couldn't let it go.

In short, she was carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders.

Now, 3 months into having cleaning with SustainaClean, she has her weekends back. She no longer goes to bed in tears because she can't remember if she scrubbed the loo or mopped the kitchen floor this week. She is less stressed as a result & has more time & headspace for her boys.
