Case Study: Boosting Productivity at FMG Repair Services Scunthorpe

When FMG Repair Services’ Scunthorpe site needed to replace some well-used equipment, they turned to Junair for a modern solution that would also enhance productivity.

Working closely with Site Manager Rick Prior and Regional Manager Andy Tomlinson, we designed a system that maximised efficiency and provided additional workbays.

This was a full turnkey project—from decommissioning and safely disposing of the old equipment to filling extraction pits, levelling the ground, and removing obsolete services.

In their place, we installed two brand-new 3 Series Spray Booth Ovens (each 7m long, 3.1m high) with fully gridded LEVAC Floors. Equipped with QADS auxiliary driers and iSystem PLC touchscreen controls, these booths deliver significant energy savings.

We also added a new Paint Mixing and Spray Gun Cleaning Room between the booths to streamline operations.

The entire project, including two days of test runs, was completed in just four weeks—ensuring FMGRS’ team could get back to work with minimal disruption.

The new setup not only enhances efficiency but also supports our commitment to delivering high-quality repairs with minimal downtime. Final stages of installation and commissioning of 3x Junair 3 Series Spray Booth Ovens for our client in Coventry.
Each booth is 8m long and has an internal height of 3.1m enabling painting of larger vehicles. The LEVAC Floor means no requirements for excavating pits in this new building.
This facility also includes Paint Mixing Rooms and our clever use of facia panelling allows all of the Air Handling Plants to be contained in a dedicated ahp maintenance space.
We think its a great looking facility.

Current installation pics for a Paint Mixing Room / SprayGun Cleaning Facility.

PMRs are often an afterthought when talking about equipment requirements; however, they are integral and essential in any successful paint facility.
For this installation (a training facility), a large 7m x 4m room was designed which sits alongside a spray booth with a large central mixing bench that incorporates ventilated storage underneath.
