As a cleaner, I can’t tell you how many people apologise for the state of their house before I’ve even stepped through the door. Please don’t ever feel the need to apologise, this is exactly what I’m here for! I will never judge anyone’s home. Believe it or not, my own place is usually a bit of a mess too, after cleaning all day, the last thing I want to do is scrub my own house when I get home 😂.
I’ve also noticed comments online when cleaners share before and after photos, and it makes me sad to see people asking things like, “How can anyone live like that?” or “How did it get that bad?” The truth is, we never know what someone might be going through. Life gets busy, mental health can take a toll, stress builds up, some people live with disabilities, or they’re simply overwhelmed by everything else that needs to be done each day.
We all have different struggles, and sometimes the smallest tasks can feel like the biggest challenges. A messy home doesn’t mean someone is lazy or doesn’t care, it often just means they’re human and doing their best.
So please, let’s remember to be kind. A bit of understanding goes a long way, and you never know how much a little compassion might mean to someone. ❤️
