💷 MINIMUM PRICING 💷
We see this question pop up from time to time. I think we all agree that DIY should always be the cheapest budget option for people. Makes sense right?
Look at R*g Dr for a minute.
>£24.99 for 24 hour hire. But only £29.99 for 48 hrs, it's a bargain and the can do more
>£4.99 upholstery/stair tool
>£10.99 small bottle of detergent. Doesn't look much so they get £16.99 for 2 litres, or maybe they'll do more so opt for 4 litres at £21.99
>£13.99 fabric detergent as Might as well do the sofa while they have the machine.
>£25 Deposit (refundable)
Minimum outlay just to do one room is 24.99+10.99+25=£60.98
Most people upsell to themselves because it's such a bargain. Before you know it they've got more detergent, sofa tool, 48 hours etc so £90.96+ outlay.
Then they have to get to the store, fill in paperwork, pick up the machine, get it in their car, get it out and in to the house, do the job, clean it, put it back in the car and take it back, get it out of the car and in to the store. It's a LOT of hassle.
And that is for a DIY machine.
So why are so many guys valuing their service, which saves all of the above hassle, saves time, provides superior results, and uses ££££s worth of equipment and knowledge, at LESS than the cost of a DIY machine?
Going out for £50 means you're literally paying them £10.98 + fuel, machery & van wear etc to use you over a DIY machine. If you charge £70, they're only paying £9.02 to save all of that hassle.
If your minimum is £100, they're still only paying £39.02 Vs the hassle of a DIY machine.
Think about it. No other service business is out there saving people money against DIY.
This was a post on a cleaning site, so true.
