I hate that I even have to write this, but after receiving some type of messages I feel I need to say speak up.
I cancelled a day of cleans due to a private family issue — something completely out of my control. Instead of understanding, I have received messages questioning my professionalism and work ethic.
Anyone who truly knows me, or has used my services, knows how hard I work. I put my heart into my business, work long hours, and always do my absolute best for every single client. I bend over backwards to accommodate people and take pride in what I do.
Behind every small business is a real person with a real life, real struggles, and sometimes unexpected situations happen. We are human before anything else. Mental health is real, and comments or threats towards somebody’s business can affect people far more than others may realise.
I’m just a person trying to build a life and future through my business, and honestly in all the years I’ve been doing this, this is the first experience I’ve had like this. I know everybody has things going on in their own lives and most of us try to keep our personal struggles private, but sometimes life gets in the way and it can be hard.
This post is not aimed at anybody in particular, but please just be mindful with your words and how you speak to people. You never truly know what somebody is dealing with behind closed doors.
I will always remain professional and respectful, but I will not tolerate being spoken to in a degrading or threatening manner because I needed to prioritise my family for one day.
