🧡Yesterday, we were proud to present Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity with a cheque for £2,500 - and it was a moment that reminded us exactly why we do what we do.
Earlier this year, Fiona Harris from the charity joined us for our 10-minute presentation slot and gave our members a truly powerful insight into the vital work they carry out every day across Yorkshire - from peer support groups and wellbeing walks to hardship grants for families in desperate need.
The statistics alone stopped us in our tracks. Every week, 15 people across Yorkshire receive the life-changing news that they have a brain tumour. Yet brain tumours receive less than 2% of the annual cancer research spend in the UK. That's why the work Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity does matters so much.
💬 Fiona said: “Every week, 15 people across Yorkshire are told they have a brain tumour diagnosis- bringing not only physical challenges, but also emotional and financial difficulties for patients, as well as their friends, families, and loved ones.
"We are incredibly grateful to the caring corporate community and generous businesspeople at TRUST for their donation, which will help improve the lives of anyone impacted by a brain tumour diagnosis across Yorkshire. Their support enables us to continue being a hand in the dark for our families, delivering timely and meaningful support where it is needed most."
