September = Spiders 🕷️

Since I am currently away from my work in your home, I have time to advise you on spiders this Month and how best to keep them out.

* Seal any gaps around doors, windows and skirting boards
* Fit draft excluders on doors
* Keep windows shut at night
* Vacuum behind furniture and in corners
* Keep outside lights to a minimum since lights attract spiders
* Move pots, wood, leaves and garden clutter away from the house
* Trim any creeping vegetation from external walls near doors and windows

You can use a simple solution of peppermint essential oil and water with a dash of washing up liquid and spray this around doors and windows.
Tests and studies worldwide show no evidence that conkers repel spiders…. School children in Cornwall conducted an experiment which revealed spiders walk over conkers with no signs of distress, avoidance or harm!

After what can only be described as a working holiday in France 🇫🇷🛠️🏡… I’m officially back to work tomorrow.

The past month my husband and I have spent time renovating a small part of our French property – lots of hard graft, dusty clothes, sore muscles, and more DIY than I ever imagined! It definitely wasn’t the relaxing holiday most people picture, but seeing the progress has made every aching muscle worth it.

Now it’s time to swap paintbrushes and pointing trowels for mops, cloths, and sparkling homes! ✨🧼

To all my lovely clients, thank you so much for your patience while I was away. I’m looking forward to catching up with everyone and getting your homes looking their best again.

It’s good to be back… although I have a feeling France won’t be out of my system for long! ❤️🇫🇷

iKlean will be closed until Monday, 3rd August, when all of my cleaning services will fully resume.

As the weather starts warming up, it’s the perfect time to tackle those areas where mould loves to hide. Bathrooms, windows, and corners can quickly build up moisture over winter.

🧼 A few simple tips to help prevent mould:

✔️ Open windows daily to improve ventilation✔️ Wipe down condensation on windows and sills✔️ Leave bathroom doors open after showers to let steam escape✔️ Regularly clean drains and wet areas✔️ Keep furniture slightly away from walls to allow airflow

A little prevention now can save a lot of scrubbing later!
