Vehicle Interior Mould Remediation & Deep Clean – Before & After
This vehicle arrived in extremely poor condition, with heavy mould contamination throughout the interior, significant dirt build-up, and a large amount of debris embedded in the carpets, seats, and hard-to-reach areas.
Work carried out:
* Removed all loose rubbish and debris from the cabin.
* Performed an intensive vacuum process that took approximately 9 hours alone due to the amount of dirt, dust, and contamination present.
* Thoroughly vacuumed seats, carpets, floor mats, crevices, under-seat areas, and storage compartments.
* Treated all mould-affected surfaces with professional-grade cleaning and sanitising products.
* Deep cleaned fabric seats to remove mould spores, staining, and contamination.
* Cleaned and disinfected all interior plastics, dashboard, centre console, door panels, steering wheel, pedals, and high-touch surfaces.
* Detailed vents, trim, cup holders, and hard-to-reach areas where mould and dirt had accumulated.
* Removed built-up grime and restored the interior to a clean, hygienic condition.
* Completed a final sanitisation treatment to help eliminate odours and reduce the risk of mould returning.
Results:
The transformation was dramatic. What was once a heavily contaminated interior covered in visible mould and dirt has been restored to a clean, fresh, and presentable condition. The seats, dashboard, centre console, and carpets were all significantly improved, with the majority of visible mould removed and the vehicle left sanitised and ready for use.
One of the most labour-intensive interior restoration jobs we’ve completed, requiring extensive cleaning, mould treatment, and over 9 hours of vacuuming to bring the vehicle back to this standard.
Why did it take so long?
This vehicle had previously been “cleaned” by another company that used a fabric dye product to hide the dirt in the carpets rather than properly remove it. The dye effectively glued dirt and debris into the carpet fibres, making it incredibly difficult to extract. This is why the vacuuming process alone took around 9 hours before the deep cleaning could even begin.
