Another chimney brought back to life by the Pro Builds team! 🏠🔨

This chimney was in desperate need of some attention.

We started by removing all the existing cracked and failing roughcast, preparing the chimney ready for a fresh finish. We then installed new drip beads and applied a fresh wet-dash finish to give the chimney a much-needed protective layer against the elements.

However, while carrying out the work, we noticed another issue that needed addressing.

The existing haunching (the top of the chimney) was also badly cracked and deteriorating. We weren’t happy with the condition of the brickwork or the existing chimney top either.

Rather than simply covering up the problem and leaving it to happen again, we’ve decided to go the extra mile.

We will be installing a properly constructed chimney top with an adequate overhang. This will allow rainwater to drip clear of the chimney rather than running down the freshly finished dashing

Why is this important?

Without a suitable overhang and drip detail, rainwater can run down the chimney, causing staining, water pe*******on and eventually deterioration and cracking of the render.

At Pro Builds, we believe in doing things properly, not just making them look good for now.

It’s about identifying the underlying problems and putting them right to give our customers a longer-lasting finish.

Another job where doing it right matters!

🏡 ANOTHER JOB COMPLETED – ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER! 🔨

Another fantastic transformation completed by the Pro Builds Group team! 👷‍♂️

Our customers had been suffering from a serious leak that had caused significant damage to the ceiling underneath their balcony.

🔍 We diagnosed the problem before starting work, provided a full repair quotation, and stuck to the agreed price – no unexpected costs!

Here’s what we did:

✅ Carefully removed the existing glass balcony.
✅ Identified that the original fibreglass roof had been compromised by the fixings used to secure the glass balcony framework.
✅ Removed all the old roofing materials and debris, as shown in the photos.
✅ Installed a brand-new fibreglass roof.
✅ Installed lead flashing and drip beads to help provide a watertight finish.
✅ Properly sealed the roof to protect against future water ingress.
✅ Brought in our joiner to complete the project with a beautiful, purpose-built wooden balcony.

The result? A smart new balcony, a properly repaired roof, and very happy customers! 🙌

We take pride in diagnosing problems correctly, providing honest quotations, and delivering quality workmanship from start to finish.

🔥 Chimney Breast Restoration — Bringing Back the Original Character

This customer wanted to open up the chimney breasts to make way for new fireplaces and a wood-burning stove.

Once we opened everything up, we discovered the original fireplace openings hidden behind the existing finish. Rather than covering them back over, the customer decided she wanted to showcase the original brickwork and beautiful limestone.

So that’s exactly what we created. 👌
