Good morning,

While out on today’s round, the drive belt snapped on the van. Sadly, this means we cannot continue working until it is repaired.

Customers in the Peak Lane/Greyshott Ave (Fareham) area that were due to be cleaned today unfortunately won’t be. I would like to reassure you that no charges are incurred if your bin isn’t cleaned, and the date of your next one will be 27th May.

I am sorry for the inconvenience this will cause, and we thank you for your understanding.

Kind regards,
Charlotte & David

➡️ Latest news - Food Waste Collections Coming Soon!

To get ready for the introduction of weekly food waste collections from Monday 30 March, the Council has now started delivering everything residents need to get started.

This includes:
✅ An indoor kitchen caddy so you can collect your food waste each day
✅ A roll of bio-degradable caddy liners
✅ An information leaflet that tells you everything you need to know
✅ A small outdoor food waste bin for kerbside collection.
✅ If you use communal waste bins, a separate, orange-lidded bin will be delivered for food waste.

There are over 100,000 caddies and bins to be delivered, so residents are urged to be patient and not to contact the team until all deliveries are completed. An update on outstanding deliveries can be found on the Council website below.

Food waste makes up approximately one-third of all household refuse currently collected in Fareham. While reducing food waste as much as possible is, by far, the best thing residents can do for the environment, recycling food waste will also help improve the environmental impact of the Borough.

♻️ Reminder: Bin collection dates will change over Christmas and New Year. Crews won’t be working on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or New Year’s Day.

✅ Please have your bins out by 7am, even if your usual collection time is later. There may be delays that could impact your waste collections due to the M27 Junction 10 closure, but rest assured our crews will be working as fast as they can.

To our Fareham customers:

Following the attached announcement from the council, this is certainly going to affect our rounds. We are asking you to please let us know of any changes to bin collection days when these letters start being distributed, and we will be trying to keep track on the council website.
This appears to be a massive change, so we will keep you updated as best we can when we find more out.

Thank you in advance for your help and understanding with this.

Kind regards,
Charlotte & David

➡️ Latest news - Your Bin Days May be Changing!

To get ready for the introduction of food waste collections in March next year, and to provide residents with an improved and more efficient waste collection service, Fareham Borough Council is making changes to its bin collection rounds.

This means that many residents’ bin collection days are likely to change from 3 November.

All residents will receive a letter in the post to confirm their new bin collection days, alongside a bin calendar for the rest of 2025 and details of any changes during the festive period. Even those residents who will not be affected by the change will receive a letter to confirm this, to avoid any confusion.

Until 31 October, residents should continue to put their bins out according to their usual collection schedule.

An additional one-off collection will be added to the rounds for residents that have a significant gap between their old and new general refuse (green top bin) collection days. Those residents affected will be informed of this additional collection in their letter. These collections will begin on the week commencing 27 October through to 7 November.
