I wanted to put up a post showing why shop brought oven cleaners can lead to disaster.

Check out these photos of the worst DIY cleans I have come across.

Shop brought oven cleaners contain acid. Acid doesn’t just eat grease and oil. It eats the protection on your oven and causes rust.

Unfortunately once your oven has rust, there is nothing we can do about it!

If you don’t remove 100% of the cleaner, it re-solidifies into a powder. Your fan oven then blows this around whilst you’re cooking and you’ll ingest it with your food 😱
