A person went into their new Airbnb flat and this is what they found...
A person went into their new Airbnb flat and this is what they found in the bed! Needless to say they have now decided to stay elsewhere whilst the owner arranges treatment of the property. All this can be avoided if you get a professional to assess and proof off your property against rodent ingress as a proactive measure and not a reactive one.

This is the back of a supposed new restaurant. FYI -there are HUNDREDS of rats under this waste and in the foliage. The owner of the land refuses to take responsibility and the council for some reason won’t pursue the matter leaving nearby residents having to deal with rats when they go out to their communal bins.

Spot the rat burrow!
Rats have been on the increase throughout Glasgow and central Scotland recently. If you see a hole like this in soil in close proximity to a building there’s a good chance it could be a rat burrow. If unsure call the professionals.

📰 Hard to believe this was 2 years ago!

Back in 2023, we were asked by the press to share our thoughts on the rise of bedbug problems in Scotland. Always nice when our expertise gets recognised — even if it’s about something as unwanted as bedbugs 😅

These pests spread fast and are almost impossible to fully clear without professional treatment. Spotting them early is key to avoiding a major infestation.

👉 Still proud seeing our name in print!

It doesn’t take much for a rat or mouse to squeeze through a gap in between your doors and get into where it’s warms and safe. If you would rather not have tenants who don’t pay then always pay attention to the smallest of things around your property as that is what rodents exploit to get into properties.

Think this is a wasp? Think again. It’s actually a harmless hoverfly. These flies have evolved a pattern and appearance similar to wasps to scare off potential predators.

As a student of nature even when I’m on holiday I look for chances to see how humans interact with animals. Needless to say this was a unique and somewhat spine tingling experience. The king cobra seemed to be as tame as a cat in the snake charmers hands. Trust me that still wouldn’t be enough for me to give it a go but you live or you learn (or if the snake is poisonous 💀) 🤣

Unlike honey bees, wasps don’t survive the winter—only the new queens do. Here’s how their year looks:

Spring → A fertilised queen emerges from hibernation and builds a small nest

Eggs & Larvae → She lays eggs which hatch into larvae, fed by the queen

Workers → By summer, the first workers take over nest duties

Colony Growth → The nest grows rapidly, producing hundreds (sometimes thousands) of wasps

Late Summer/Autumn → New queens and males are produced; old colony begins to die

Winter → Only young queens survive by hibernating, ready to restart the cycle

This is why wasps become such a nuisance in late summer—their colonies are at peak size and food sources are scarce. If you need a hand dealing with one in Glasgow then give us a call on 01418460022.

Today’s your lucky day because this is a video of an active ants nest in a garden light. The white rice like objects are actually eggs that the ants furiously started to try and move when I exposed presence.

If you ever wondered what the inside of a wasps nest looks like...
If you ever wondered what the inside of a wasps nest looks like look no further. It’s essentially paper mache with perfect hexagonal structures each housing at some point a baby wasp called a larvae.
